    Hey guys i keep hearing alot about these mysterious 169.xx drivers but all i seem to find is the 156.xx drivers. Windows says there are no updates available taht top the 156.xx but apparently the 169.xx drivers have incraesed gaming performace? I have an 8600GT in my IFL90 and want the best power out of it. Should I install the 169.xx drivers and where are they?!
    I also have 32 bit WinXP if that makes a difference.

    The thing is Nvidia are using different numbering schemes for the mobile drivers compared to the desktop drivers.

    Mobile cards latest drivers from Nvidia:
    156.87 -> 167.49

    What you need is a modded inf. Where you downloaded the driver, there should be a modded inf file.

    Run the exe. This will extract all files. Copy the modded inf into the extracted directory. Accept the over-write.

    Now, install the new drivers. I go into safe-mode, delete the old drivers and install the new. This may be unnecessary, but I try to ensure no old drivers exist.
