169.04 is released
Vista 32-bit driver
http://www.nvidia.com/object/winvista_x86_169.04.html
-
ok cool
Just upgraded to 169.02 lol
Now let's wait until laptopvideo2go puts this driver online -
Here's link to international version (Vista 32Bit)
http://us.download.nvidia.com/Windows/169.04/169.04_forceware_winvista_32bit_international_beta.exe -
But it doesn't support notebook GPU's
So we can't use them until laptopvideo2go puts them online -
I can mod it my self for work with my 8600M GT (No powermizer
)
Do you want it? -
The Forerunner Notebook Virtuoso
Sure big, would appreciate it. I trust your handiwork.
-
Yea ok, but if you do it yourself isn't there a risk?
I mean, i'm a noob on doing things like that lol -
every modded driver have risk
BTW i'm just insert HW ID code to the inf .then it work with my 8600M GT.I don't want any power saving options because I'm 24/7 use main power -
Ok
I got a question about the temperature of my GPU.
Is it possible that my GPU that is running on new drivers (169) has a lower temperature?
And can it depend 10 degrees from summer/winter? -
To 1, Yes, certain optimizations or power settings introduced with new drivers might cause less heat to be generated.
To 2, Yes, in my experience ambient room temperature has a significant impact on CPU/GPU temps.
Oh and...
WOW. Talk about a hectic driver release schedule!
Anyone want to tell me if this 169.01, 169.02, or 169.04 are the drivers I should upgrade to from 163.44? Or are the 163.44 drivers still the best? (I know they aren't.) -
Here's Modded INF for Vista 32Bit(International version)

-
Can you upload your modded inf please
? I tried to make my own mod, but it didn't work. Installation went fine, but nothing changed, still "standard VGA driver"
-
Ok thanks
Because when NOT gaming my GPU is like 65°C and a few weeks before it was still 75°C....
So they dropped big
I'm in a room with a temperature like 18-19°C
In the summer the temperature here was like 28°C and then my G1S was sweating A LOT
-
WTF
my room temp 27C(Night)-32C(Day)
Never go below 25C
I live in Sri Lanka(It's hot here) -
Hehe lol
I'm living in Belgium (Is above France
) and now it's already cold here
-
im in belgium atm
-
your inf doesn't work. After installation the card still use the standard driver... :S
-
Blackbird, your dutch?
So you understand me when i say:
Ik woon in Gent
-
What?
What do you mean by standard driver?
It work for me!!!!
-
nope not dutch, english, Im here just for today.
but i do understand some notions of dutch
i think that means you live in gent -
I mean:
I uninstall the driver, so that it rolls back to the manufacturer's driver
Then run Driver Sweeper
Overwrite the original inf with your inf, and run setup.exe.
But nothing happens. It just installs, but driver version is still the same
:S -
I'm sure you are Indian!
-
Aaah ok
Indeed, that's what it means
Your in Brussels? And your here for your work or what?
I haven't tried your modded inf yet, i will try it this evening
-
that pic in my avatar made you think that, made forerunner think that too
im not indian
im in Brussels to give some stuff back to a friend -
Try again .I upload the new version
-
something is wrong. Its not even asking for WHQL... :S
-
Do you always have to delete your old driver?
I have never done that before and all the drivers worked for me
-
its recommended and worth it.
changed my display pic now lol....what does it make me look like now? ...a ninja....good
-
No ....a.....like a bank robber
-
Hmm I dont think it can detect my card, it just installs the drivers on the HDD, without making them interact with the card.
Are you sure you've included 8600M GT? -
@ bigspin: how does the driver works??
You notice an FPS increase?
@ blackbird: lol, Your from Asia
-
Yes.It works with my Aspire 5920(It have 8600M GT DDR2 Version)
-
kewl, well you look like a laptop
actually its what we gotta wear when doing ninjitsu.. -
Going to run 3DMark06 now ...C U in 20 Min with the results
-
I have GDDR3
Maybe that's the cause ? -
i doubt it, the most likely cause is the OS version...the infs are different for each.
anyway folks, il see y'all after exams -
Is your inf for XP ? maybe thats why...
*sigh, gotta wait for LV2GO to make an inf for vista -
Vista 32Bit INF(International version)
-
Can you post results ?
I went downstairs to eat something and i think now 20 minutes are over
Laptopvideo2go is busy uploading the 169.04 driver
http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showforum=72
(topics already made) -
yep your right, not indian, not a bank robber or anything of the sort.
Pakistani living in England.
Its good to see such a diverse community over here, people from all around the world.
lol, you that eager to find the 3dmark06 score out.
page loads but no threads on page...i think lv2go is working on the inf and getting everything sorted out before they upload it -
Omg man I'm pressing the F5 button after every 3seconds, can't wait
-
8600M GT DDR2 (OC 572/472) 3DMARK06 SCORE
169.01 = 4160
169.04 = 4165
HUGE 5 POINT INCREASE .....
-
why cant nvidia just release big driver updates slowly instead of these small very insignificant ones every few days...
-
Same Question here. This work is pain men
-
will this work with the 8700gt as well ?? thanks
-
My modded inf will work with 8700M GT
-
Use the Have-Disk method. It will probably work. You should NEVER use the setup.exe unless you are installing the driver on a desktop.
At least with all of these small driver updates things actually move. If they start cramming them into massive updates you'll see much slower progress as a result. Then you'll be really mad at Nvidia for NEVER releasing driver updates. After awhile the hype will be so large for driver updates that you'll experience the Windows Vista effect and we wont see drivers more than once a year. -
The Forerunner Notebook Virtuoso
^ Yeah nvidia can't win it seems. Before it was not enough drivers, now its too many lol. Poor nvidia.
-
Seriously. Only way people will be happy is if Nvidia packages an auto-driver installer ala Windows Update so that nobody ever has to do ANYTHING at ALL.
I liken this situation to complaining when you get a bonus at work. All you have to do is WALK DOWN THE HALL and collect your bonus. Yeah, maybe it is only 20 bucks. But 20 bucks is 20 bucks and if you want it go walk down the hall and get it. -
The Forerunner Notebook Virtuoso
Yeah and its kind of expected that when new demos/games are released (not to mention nvidias new desktop gpus) that new drivers will be released. WIth the slew of games comin out next 2-3 weeks, better hold on to your seats!
Yeah like you said stormeffect, its up to you whether to update or not. Drivers are not mandatory and some yes don't justify the performance increase, while some may not even pertain to you because they fix bugs/glitches wih certain hardware.
169.04 released!
