(modded inf not available yet, if you can't wait use the 169.04 modded inf)
EDIT:
Already heard a story of somebody who installed this driver: 3Dmark06 score is the same, fps in all games are the same
(Somebody can confirm this story?)
-
thanks for the heads up
one thing i don't understand is why are all these nvidia drivers BETA...they have released millions yet they are still in BETA...makes no sense to me. Or is the BETA just their to justify any problems with them lol like Gmail was in beta for ages -
This is another "Recommended driver for Crysis" btw, according to Nvidia. -
-
anyone get this update today in their windows vista regarding a driver update from nvidia for the 8600 GT? what version is this?
-
Seems like the water reflection bug for Crysis in 169.04 has been ironed out in this one..
-
These drivers also seem to support sli in crysis (according to the techreport)
-
I have a 6800, so does that mean that i don't have to dl a modded INF?
-
all notebooks have to have the custom .INF file for the installation to succeed.
-
There's going to be a new driver every other week with all these new games coming out.

Nvidia is putting out drivers faster than I can download them. I'll give these a try. -
Anybody has a performance increase ??
And on laptopvideo2go
( http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=16152 ) it looks like there is/was a problem with the modded inf??
Should i use that modded inf or not? -
hi how did you guys put the notebook specs below your post?
-
-
cool!!....
-
Anyone see performance increased either under the retail version or LaptopVideo2Go's latest drivers?
Thanks -
(It just fixes bugs)
-
*Sigh*
Okay, thanks. -
I'm gone install the driver NOW
Let's see what it gives on my lappy -
I've been playing crysis for the last few hours on this driver it seems to be stable
-
These drivers do not seem to give me any performance increase in Crysis over 160.04, unfortunately. The full game is even harder on your hardware than the demo.
-
-
so stick with .04 or go to .09?
-
same question from me
-
-
For now, these drivers are not worth it. Wait for a completely optimized driver from Nvidia once Crysis officially hits store shelves.
-
I went from 157.22 (I think) to the 169.02 (about a week ago)
My 3DMark went down 1 or 2 points
I'll try the 169.09 this weekend I think -
zfactor 169.04 seems to be stable. I havn't tried Crysis yet though. I am going to try out the 169.09 to see how it is.
-
hi all i have a sager n5791 laptop.. also nvidia 8700 gt , when i want to download 169.09 it appears error and download closing, what s wrong?
-
if i'm wrong 169.09 is still beta drive.am i right?
-
To all 169.09 users, it seemed gamespot deliberately downgraded to 169.04 for non-SLi nvidia cards for its hardware performance guide. Perhaps this driver version is best optimised for the SLi configurations and doesn't offer a significant performance increase to warrant upgrading from 169.04.
All 160xx driver series are beta drivers Limpman as far as I know. The latest official nvidia drivers according to laptopvideo2go is the 156 released to laptop OEMs. -
From looking at the nvidia site 163.75 was the last official release driver. My guess is the used the 169.04 because it has been out for a few days now and it appears stable. 169.09 was just released in the past few days.

THIS DRIVER IS NOTE RECOMMENDED FOR ASUS G1S USERS (stay with the 169.04 driver !)
I was playing cod4 suddenly i had dots and lines on my screen, i couldn't see anything any more....
After rebooting my G1S the problem was solved, but i go back to the 169.04 driver !!! -
I agree with sgtmatt1. i have a g1s and saw a significant decrease in performance on cod4
-
i did 3dmark testing with 169.09 on my g1s and there was a HUGE loss in 3dmark05 scores - im talking 1500 points (with about a 30 point loss in 3dmark06):
http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthread.php?t=188347
g1s users - stick with 169.04 -
-
Now i got the 169.04 driver again, on this moment this driver is the best one for G1S users
Let's see next time when nvidia gives another driver out -
yeah I tried both .04 and .09. .04 4lyfe (for now
)
169.09 is OUT !
