Oblivion kept crashing on my laptop so I took the opportunity to update my drivers to 169.09 and hope for the best, but instead i got the crap scared out of me when I got a BSOD... Apparently that driver is still buggy, so I tried 169.06 and that one works fine. Has anyone else experienced fatal errors with 169.09?

in general, do the latest driver updates improve the overall performance/overclockability of older generation graphics cards, such as the go 7600, or is their main purpose just to get rid of bugs and improve performance in specific games?

From my personal experience, they do increase performance and add further stability to older generation graphics card.

I've never had a single problem with that driver, so that's weird.
Have you noticed a stability issue with you OC'd clocks?
If not, take a look at the newest drivers from LV2G.com
