169.12 is released! Just some 8800GT fixes, nothing new. But I haven't seen any benchmarks yet, could be some hidden changes and fixes
Vista 32-bit

Modded inf:

If the modded inf doesn't work, you can use the inf from 169.04. Just remember to change the driver ver.

Nvidia releases these drivers faster than we can download them. If you're just updating your drivers now then get these, but if you already have 169.04 or 169.09 installed, then stay where you are.
Thanks for this info! -
I still got the 169.04 driver, i only upgrade when there comes a driver that gives an performance boost....
169.04 works great for me -
so this driver is 8800 only
-
There are NO changes (the same as the 169.09 driver) -
I've downloaded the 169.09 and i've been having many issues such as the display driver not working and then Windows saying it has "recovered" from it. I used the modded inf from the 169.09 not the modded inf 169.04, is this ok?
-
I recommend: STAY WITH 169.04 IF YOU DON'T HAVE A SLI LAPTOP... -
So what do people think of this driver? performance boost? -

So after these drivers the non-beta/final drivers will be released that will still improve the performance of the 8 series cards?
-
Hey,
Can someone please link me the appropriate modded inf file for driver version 169.04?
Thanks! -
I prefer ati for this reason, less but significant drivers updates instead of every week little update to transform the user in a beta-driver tester...

Why dont you use the new one? Only difference is date and driver ver. -
I've been using 169.09, but I understand that 169.04 seem to be running crysis with more stability. -
Here it is then
http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=15828
Do you want to use 169.04 inf for 169.12? I don't understand -
I'll wait a little longer before I switch to 169.12, I think. -
-
-
So if there' no performance boost, they can keep working on it then...
-
I'm sure that there will come new drivers (WITH performance boost) soon -
My sixth sense tell me that the power of 8600M GT is yet to be unlocked by drivers
say, 170. or 180. series
-
People have been saying/hoping that ever since the 8600 was released
I hope you're right though ... then the 8700 woul benefit from it aswell -
Will the drivers actually go into the 170. or 180. series or will they stop making them?
-
Well, as long as Nvidia make new cards, they're going to continue towards 200 I think.
Cards need drivers to work properlySo in theory they can go into 300-400 series
-
In total in want to get + 10 fps (from new driver after new driver after new driver, i hope that is possible)
-
Lol, within 6 months, 8600M GT will be able to play Crysis @ 60 fps
-
That would be AWESOME but i don't think that it will go so far -
Of course not... i'm just dreaming
-
It's sad but I have Vista 64 Ultimate loaded and I hardly ever use it. XP does me fine. Thanks for the heads up I'll probably load this one for Vista.
-
The 169.04 is the most stable and reliable so far. Until another driver comes out to actually increase performance, and not just fix some bugs, there is no point in actually talking about it..
-
Is this true for the Asus G1S as well? I'd read somwhere that the Asus stock drivers were better as they took advantage of the DDR3 memory properly, but I've no basis to say whether this was true or just rumour? Any views appreciated.

Is there another place to get the updated drivers that will work with my SLI-3? Laptopvideo2go website seems to be down.

Sounds a bit odd to me...

Sounds really strange :s
I got an Asus G1S and i don't think this is true...
The 169.xx drivers gave me huge performance boost ! -
laptopvideo2go.com is currently unavaliable. Can I ask someone to send on my email 169.12 or 169.04 drivers with modded inf? thx
[email protected] -
Download the the driver from Nvidia and use any modded inf from 160.xx series
Remember to change driver id and date in the .inf file -
i do have 192.04 or 09 driver but i think it is making shut down hangs and ends with video memory dumb.. is it driver problem because i don;t face this if i have stock driver. i am thinking of updating..
-
So the question still stands for me....Where do i get the modded INF file From?
I Have 6.14.11.5655 Drivers from the Reseller....And i can not do much with them....3dmark 06 crashes with them........LOL
Thx -
Just wait a few days, and LV2GO will be online with their new server, and you'll be able to get a modded inf
-
For now you guys can check out my post here for all of the INFs.
