169.13 is released. It's a minor update for Crysis
You can get them @ Guru3D, but not Nvidia ?
Vista 32-bit
Vista 64-bit
Xp 32-bit
Xp 64-bit
Release notes:
Beware that you cannot play Crysis for more than 10-15 minutes with these drivers, it will crash, because you need the patch, which is not yet released![]()
But you can play every other game you want!
EDIT: I'll make the modded inf in a couple of minutes!
EDIT 2: People @ Guru3D report increased performance in both benchmark and games!

Nice! Think I'm going to update from 169.02 to 169.13!
That's quite a lot of versions later so(.04/ .09 .12)
-
Downloading it right now
-
Cant wait to hear how things are running.. specially on the 8600m gpu's.
-
Anyone tried the drivers yet?
I'm gonna install them in a few minutes. I only play FEAR Combat at the moment, so can't really report too much on performance -
I have tested them, and they have great 3dmark score, id say better than 169.04 ! but yet again... on my comp they run like crap in games, stuttering and so on, just like every other driver.... except 163.71 beta :/
im sick of this problem... -
I just played FEAR @ 1680 x 1050, 2xAA, 2xAF, really smooth!
Performance seems to be slightly better with these drivers, though I only tested them in one game -
-
Downloading now for my X205-Sli1, when is the patch for Crysis due?
-
In a couple of days I think
-
If you by clean install mean uninstall older drivers, use CCcleaner and all that, yes... always do that.
Yet still no luck. -
i think he means this
-
The Forerunner Notebook Virtuoso
Overclocking still working? Your comment about cod4 is tempting me.
-
Here are my results for a couple of benchmarks at 580/445:
CounterStrike: Source stress test- 169.04: 129 FPS 169.13: 128 FPS
HL2: Lost Coast stress test- 169.04: 102 FPS 169.13: 100 FPS
I'll post my 3Dmark06 scores in a few minutes
EDIT; here they are: I got 4149 with the 169.04 drivers and 4143 with 169.13. not much of a difference. -
Hmm, I just got a 2999 score of 3dmark (1050 SM2 and 1150 SM3) at 500/520. I used to get arround 3300.
I hit 2100 on the CPU score at 2.4GhZ though. Used to get arround 1850????
Altought I doubt that has any kind of effect, I modified myself the .inf files so now I'll try again with laptopvideo2go's one -
i am dling and going to install now.. ill post it when it comes out
-
all sussed, took me a while. its quit astounding :
Vostro 1500 8600m GT standard driver 3D Mark 3452
169.13 driver 3D Mark 3797
Thanks Someone777 for your help getting me through!!! -
The Forerunner Notebook Virtuoso
Alright, just installed and overclocking is still working.
Gonna test with Call of Duty 4. -
overclocked 169.13 8600m gt no problem. 3D mark was completed flawless!!
-
The Forerunner Notebook Virtuoso
Not bad. See a 3-4 FPS increase in the average FPS for cod4. I'll take what I can get.
-
what does the modified inf ?
-
you copy it to the folder you extracted your drivers to so that the Nvidia drivers can be installed with a mobile card.
-
-
Okay i just updated my drivers from 163.75 to 169.13, Before with the 163.75 drivers installed i had a 160 Average FPS in CSS. Now after installing the 169.13 driver its SUPER laggy, like 10 FPS. did i do something wrong? I installed it like i have all the other ones in the past.. idk what the hell is wrong with it...
-
-
Get it here
It removes all the "leftovers", so you can do a clean install -
I just did a clean install, looks like it works fine
EDIT: With my previous driver (the 169.04) i sometimes had some lag with aero in vista but it performed very well in games, with this driver my aero lag is completely over, let me see later how it performs in games ) -
Just played the Crysis Demo, and performance is really good. Better than 169.04
-
Better score in 3D Mark '06 is not working for me...
101.08: 475Mhz/ 950Mhz/ 400Mhz --> 3329
158.45: 475Mhz/ 950Mhz/ 400Mhz --> 3339
167.26: 475Mhz/ 950Mhz/ 400Mhz --> 3483
167.26: 600Mhz/ 1200Mhz/ 475Mhz --> 4007
169.02: 475Mhz/ 950Mhz/ 400Mhz --> 3489
169.02: 600Mhz/ 1200Mhz/ 475Mhz --> 4146
169.13: 475Mhz/ 950Mhz/ 400Mhz --> 3491
169.13: 600Mhz/ 1200Mhz/ 475Mhz --> 4015
Games tested with standard clocks, so no OC'ing and al at 1440x900:
Unreal Tournament 3 has increased with 3/4 fps in comparison with 169.02
From 27fps to 30/31 fps
Tombraider Anniversary has increased a outrageous number of 40fps in comparison with 169.02
From 60fps (walking)/ 55fps (fighting) to 100fps (walking)/ 95fps (fighting)
Swat 4 has incread with 10 fps in comparison with 169.02
From 100fps (outside) / 80fps (inside) to 110fps (outside) / 90fps (inside)
Command and Conquer 3 - Tiberium wars has increased with 3/6 fps in comparison with 169.02
From 22fps (building)/ 16fps (fighting) to 25fps (building)/ 22fps (fighting)
Call of Duty 4 (demo) with about 22fps (not tested with 169.02 drivers)
(Now going to test other games and I will edit this post when I have benches) -
I think this driver performs worse then the 169.02/169.04 driver i think :s
On cod4 i had times that my fps dropped back to 28 fps ... (normally i get muuuch more)
This driver is better for my use in vista but not for games, so what do i have to do now lol -
The Forerunner Notebook Virtuoso
I know what you mean. Though it gave my average fps a boost it brung my minimum lower too. Overall though I'm happy with it.
-
n0elia, how good is "really good"?
I only ask cos i am looking at getting something similar to your spec (or waiting a bit and getting an 8800gtx depending how my finances go)
ta -
I am just gonna pass on this driver, all and well, first it is nice to see some improvements for the driver, but I am done changing driver everytime Nvidia decided to release a new one. I was doing exactly what I had stated and ended up with a driver-performance so messed up I got 10 fps on TF2 on Average. I will upgrade again once it reach some incredible number, like 169.99 =P
-
Well 169.99 is not an incredible number
It's only 0.86 difference lol, so it'll still be the same 160.xx series.
Once it passes 170.xx it will be "incredible" -
so, is it worth going from .04 to .13 now?
-
This driver gives good performance BUT the 169.02/169.04 still works the best for me...
So i think i'm going back to those drivers(gives best fps ingame for me)
I will upgrade as soon a driver comes out that gives a BOOST -
-
-
It said it couldnt find any drivers for my hardware. Interesting.
I have a Go 6800 in my inspiron 9300. -
But if you want to play Crysis at "high", you WILL need 8800M GTX
But wait for the patch, it will increase performance (according to Crytek)
-
Whats the difference between Driver Sweeper and Driver Cleaner? I've always used Driver Cleaner...I've been out for the past 4 months and my 8600m arrives next week, is Driver Sweeper better/just as good?
-
No difference really, does the same job :S
-
Is it unusual for video playback to have worse quality after new drivers? Games are running much better with 169.13 but I've noticed that video quality isn't as good anymore in movies. I had 156.66 before
-
Isn't the 169.13 supposed to be a fix for SLi machines?
-
So if I don't have SLI will crysis still crash or what?
-
No it will crash no matter what, because the patch isn't released yet. And this driver is build open that patch, so you have to wait. Don't know about 169.17?
-
169.17 is out!!!
-
Yes, there's a 2 page long thread about it, good morning
Where have you been ?
Just kidding, the 169.17 seem to be a little buggy, people at Guru3D and LV2GO are reporting some problems... Haven't tried them yet
-
169.13 is pretty good. I got a black and white display on my attached LCD, but it reverted to colors after I switched around some dual monitor settings.
Oh, and I got 7-10 more FPS on Tabula Rasa on high textures and geometry. Going to try adding more shadows and lighting and see what happens! -
I haven't noticed that..
