VR-Zone tested 171.16 and 173.16 beta drivers. Seems that these are only DX10 optimizes and support for new 9000 desktop AND mobile cards!

Link to test in this thread @ LV2GO

No fix for the problematic stuttering issue? Shame this set of patches is for pure performance and not stability.

Getting a 9000 series comparible to the 8800m gtx wont be an option until this time next year (comparing this to the 8000 series ofcourse :p)

So having an 8800 for the next 10 months until they release a 9800 for example would be killer if you ask me :)

Unless the 9000 series is different and a 9500 card beats the 8800 (which i doubt) then we may have something to worry about

No point giving advice to Beatsiz, all he cares about is getting the best PC right now to play Crysis. Considering he can wait until the absolute best hardware is available to run Crysis maxed out he'll be waiting a very long time until he makes up his mind.

Following Nvidia's normal naming convention a #500 is not that powerful of a card, therefore following that logic a 7950 GTX is a stronger performer than a 8500,8600,and comparable to the 8700 therefore the 8800GTX will be more powerful than the 9500,9600...etc...

Soooo, I hope they'll continue to develop drivers for 8xxx series of video cards? They'll run out of 169.xx soon. I guess if they get mature drivers through the end of this year It'll be ok.

New mobile drivers? Sounds like good news to me. Now we wait for them to be leaked... ;)
