I assume the driver series is still optimised for SLi cards? Won't be changing out of 169.28 anytime soon unless I see performance and stability increases out of a single driver.

 

Haven't tried them yet. can't really report on performance.

But 173.65 give me really good performance, and this driver is in the same 173.xx series so I don't think there are major improvements. But time will tell

 

Doesn't nvidia release these drivers ?

 

What's your nvidia card? From what I've seen the 17xx series is great for anyone with the 8800 series cards but not so great for everyone else.

Don't know about the changelog, but it gave me better performance in some games

 

These are leaked betas by nvidia, not official release!

 

No I dont want any unofficial driver update. But was just wondering about these third party drivers. I'm on my old desktop right now, 6800GS. Will prolly be getting Sager NP5792 with 8800M GTX.

Looking for a good driver for the Witcher and Civilisation 4 Full set (bought yesterday). I'll wait until more feedback appears before deciding on a switch.

 

These are not 3rd party, but nvidia drivers, they were just not meant to be leaked/released

well i can play Crysis on high at about 20FPS at 1440x900, and i can play on very high settings at 800x600 very smoothy, looks bad though, bit of an improvement i guess.

I can download the "Modded INF" OK

Anybody know, do i have to register.

Wow, got 197fps on very high in Crysis at 1440x900! Then my machine melted, but it was worth it!! Yeah getting that 403 message.

 

go down the page, in the comment section, there is another link, just use the modded inf from laptoptogo

 

So 173.80, is only a beta.

Ran Lightsmark driver 169.09 191.2, 173.80 176.1. World in Conflict 169.09 Avg fps 36 lowest fps 14 highest fps77, 173.80 Avg fps 34 lowest fps13 highest fps 76. Saw some frame tear in Lightsmark, swithching back to the trusty 169.09.

 

I got slowdowns in games (COD4 /NFS-MW).Going back to 169.28

 

How do these compare to 169.32? Also is this the first stable 17x forceware for xp?

This driver fixed a video issue when watching .mkv format.(173.65 would sometimes stop playing the video when you maximize and minimize)

Also my GPU became cooler by 2 C- 3 C when idle.

I could not see any major differences in FPS when playing Halo 2

I'll keep this driver since I watch many .mkv format videos.(anime)
