Don't really like the 17x.xx drivers. Switching back to the best: 169.28.

ive thought that and tried all of them and gone back, 169.28 was good for me but 167.45 ive found to be the best on my dell !

il try these ones out tho, its intesting that the 8600m gt is supported by the original inf tho , il report back with my views and performance later ..

interesting post from someone on there....

For anyone who can't install these drivers even though the list says they are supported - there is a .zip file in the extracted driver folder called original infs. Extract nvdm.inf.

And if you're experiencing stuttering issues, it's possible that it's because the nvct inf installs even though it doesn't list your graphics card. I originally installed this with the have disk method with the nvct.inf, and it called it an nvidia dualview or something depite the fact it is a 7900GTX.

So basically, extract the driver, delete nvct.inf, and extract nvdm.inf from the original infs folder.

no thanks. Im happy with 174.12. Anyway whats with all these drivers being spewed out by nvidia. Is it not better to consolidate fixes/improvements and release driver with a bigger increment e.g. 169, 170, 171 instead of 174.12, 174.16 and now 174.20???

Sounds like Nvidia wants us to be their beta testers. Sorry Nvidia, I'm not doing that. Deliver some competent drivers.

These drivers don't even have any release notes. What_the_hell.

Read the release date guys, this is older than the .16s. Its not new. I don't understand how the lv2g people track these things down. Must know some site where nvidia makes essentially pre-release drivers availlable.

I've been quite daring and trying out new drivers like crazy recently but im going to stop risking it now lol. The 174.12 have given me my best 3DMark ever and are overclockable. What more can I ask?

i overclocked from 500/800 to 600/950 without any temp raise, either this card can really overclock, the cooling system is really good, or my temp program sucks.....im just using Ntune

Drivers really act differently in every kind of laptop. Well, will wait for a good one that lets me overclock.
