How did it run on your 8600m GT?
-
The Forerunner Notebook Virtuoso
Just installed.
-
I noticed this yesterday but wasn't sure if I'd be able to to OC with RivaTuner still.
-
The Forerunner Notebook Virtuoso
Yeah overclocking works. Nice drivers, see a big boost in need for speed demo and call of duty. Though it may be due to my new higher clocks for my card. Been messing with clocks too much.
-
Seems pretty solid for me on my Macbook Pro playing F.E.A.R.
I don't really notice a dramatic increase in performance from 174.16 however. -
How are these compared to the 171.xx ?
-
Thomaskc; IMO these are better than 171.xx
-
just installed fine. The folder says "vista64" for the xp 32 version but dont worry, it installs and works fine.
Havent tested games yet, will do later. -
Thanks for that. I was worried when I saw that folder name and hesitated to install. Glad to know it works.
More feedback please as I'm thinking of upgrading to this [currently using 169.04]. -
Will this work for a nvidia 256mb DDR2 7600go running XP32-bit?
-
nice, just gonna test them out this arvo
sadly had some strange textures in bf2 i just tried playing so need to change anyway -
I've got the 174.12 drivers atm, is there much of a difference with the 174.31?
-
nice, got a bit of a boost in 3dmark06. Installed fine.
-
ive just installed these but i have no nvid control panel ? whats going on ????
lol i dont get it -
Just installed these. Will report on gaming performance later.
-
I still need to test it with more games, but wow at losing nearly 300 points in 3dmark06, coming from 171.16.
171.16 = 4571
174.31 = 4285
I'm going to redownload the COD4 demo to compare real world performance, and I expect to be switching back to 171.16 shortly afterwards. -
It won't install on my Gateway P-6831FX. Going back to 171.16.
-
weird installed on mine.
-
Hopefully these won`t cause Timeshift to crash as 174.16 do
-
Hmm...I haven't been able to install any 174.xx drivers so far. I've tried the have disk method and the regular method with no luck. I must be doing something wrong?
-
1.download the drivers from laptop to go video
2. dont open them, save them to a new folder on your desktop or something.
3. extract them into that same folder.
4. download and SAVE the modded INF into the folder where you extracted everything.
5. Run the setup.exe and after the installation reboot.
Try it out and see if it works -
I've done that, I just get a system was not updated message (or something didn't complete) at the end and it asks me to restart.
-
Then do as Narsail says, just before installing: uninstall your actual driver (from the control panel), restart and then install it. Have a back up of the installer or your actual driver in the case it still does not let you install. The worst case scenario is to reinstall the driver from the company (usually old drivers).
-
Well, these are the steps I do when installing drivers.
Go to control panel and uninstall the current Nvidia Drivers.
Restart.
Download the new drivers and the modded INF.
Replace the INF and start the setup.
Message comes up to restart, either that it worked or it didn't work. -
Very strange. I have always followed the same steps and never faced such a problem. You sure you are replacing the inf file? I have Vista and it will ask me either to replace the file or to keep both files. I always select to replace. So try this: delete the inf file in the folder and then place the moddified inf file.
-
Your internet connection is too fast so you get it corrupted.
j/k
Downloading right now -
For me the 171.23 driver is still the best, image quality and least tearing.
-
I'm still getting the non WHQL alert when installing
-
Updating drivers now, wish me luck
-
how is this driver? im using 174.16, should i update?
-
I'm getting some terrible flickering in the graphics while playing Dawn Of War Dark Crusade.
Going back to 171.16 after all. -
I'm just wondering if nVidia will release proper official drivers that beat all of these in the next 20 days, when I'll be ordering the Sager NP5793 with the 8800M GTX... and considering it'll come to me a month from now...
-
Ok, I've got the new driver, my previous was 174.12, no change to WEI.
But while uninstalling 174.12 to go to 174.31 it BSODed me, but it says 174.31, so I assume its worked -
Ok, so I`ve ran a 3dmark06 test on 174.16. I`m installing this one and will do a test of Unreal 3 tournament demo on both of them to see how they behave. 174.16 got me 5550 on Xp
-
installed fine, but nVidia control panel gone. Anyone know why?
-
anyone tried these with the gddr3 8600? if not I'll download them and see.
-
prasad2007 if i were you i wont buy. and id wait for Geforce 9m to come out, along with quadcores.. theya re coming out really soon man
-
Yes Prada, you might want to wait until after CE bit in march...
-
Bah... with 9m at doors i feel my 7950GTX SLI is dead already
-
Dude, your 7950GTX=88M GTX.
If you`re crying, what is my single 7950GTX supose to do? drop dead or something?
Na.I`m waiting for the 9m series also, I`m thinking of skipping the 8th series alltogether. -
actually i'm like a single 7950GTX
cause SLI is giving me 2-3 FPS increase under Vista
-
HA. Switch to XP ASAP.
Vista gave me 5300 in 3dmark. XP 5550
ASAP! -
trying to dual boot, but not working for me
-
after some aggro to get it installed fine (i think there was something wrong with the original files that has been sorted when i re downloaded)
ive just ran 3d mark and got 3962 , standard with no overclocking, which i think is the best score ive had with any drivers
just ahd a quick go on bf2 which i played this morning and had shifty texture problems on the maps
so all is great so far, il report back later after testing the other usual suspects ! -
got 7000 in 3DMark 06 @ 1440x900 at 610/930
-
Hey, just my opinion on this driver, i have overclocked it above normal and its beyond unplayable with poor fps and very unsmooth framerates on day of defeat non souce...
I will switch back to 169.04 unless there are better drivers?
tofu -
seems these drivers are for newer cards, anyone with older cards seems to be sticking witht eh 169.** series and earlier
-
I put in bold the problematic part of your statement. I am positive the reason why you are experiencing poor frame rate is that your GPU is throttling itself due to the high unstable clocks.
edit: Of course, unless by Overclocked it above normal you mean overclocking it from stock, as oppose to overclocking it higher. -
The Forerunner Notebook Virtuoso
Best drivers are 171.16. I went to sleep after installing these but we shall see. I saw a boost in need for speed and cod4 for sure. Nice smoother framerates.
174.31 is out! (From Microsoft)
