Just get the 175.63 driver. It's more 3DMark Vantage optimized, and seems to have resolved the 8800M GTX downclocking issue... or so I hear. :) I myself have indeed notice certain improvements though! :D

the drivers include some optimizations for vantage. that doesn't mean that they arent good at other things. 175.63 is probably the way to go. pretty much always go for the latest whql drivers.

I tried out 175.63 HUGE ISSUES I system restored had to uninstall drivers install old ones (174.93) AND STILL MAJOR ISSUES

My boot time has over doubled

    Constant computer lag/Hard drive usage

Games run at less then 1 FPS

Im guessing clean install or reformat is the solution?

No. Clean remove the driver using driver sweeper. Then install older driver. Weird... it seems like a good driver so far!

Something sounds like it is trying to startup and failing miserably.
If you have already run a driver cleaner and installed the previous drivers, I'm not sure what to recommend.

Uninstall anything left that says Nvidia or ATI in the add/remove programs part of the control panel. Then download drivers from your notebook vendor's website specific to your laptop.

    Uhhh....Defragment your hard drive?

    No more ideas.

not anymore. now its 175.70 (they are whql)

nvidia is seriously ROCKIN the driver game. why buy ati when you can get intensive driver support with nvidia? honestly, even if nvidia hardware was fighting price / performance from the back seat (they aren't), i would STILL consider nvidia because of the drivers and in large part because of laptopvideo2go.com

So 175.16 are the latest beta's but 175.70 are the latest WHQL? What sense does that make? lol

Anyways, I am pretty impressed so far with the 175.70's on my M1530. Got about 50 more points in 3dmark. Games seems to run a little smoother. But the huge one for me. Is that with the old drivers if I reboot with my 24" Dell monitor plugged it, I got bad over/underscan issues. And would have to unplug, reset the resolution, replug, set the res again. But now, all is well. And also, now if I plug in my Monitor after I have booted into windows, it auto detects, and kicks out the video based on my last settings. Good stuff :)

Went from 174.31 to 175.63 with no issues at all. I noticed textures are more crisp in KOTOR but i get blurry lines when watching DVD's from time to time when thers lots goin on. I never had this issue with the old driver? What is this blurring im seeing?

Any recommendations on a driver cleaner? I currently use ccleaner for removing old registry keys, but I'm guessing there are better software titles. I just installed the 174.74 drivers.

I'm currently encountering a rundll32 error at bootup, and my HD is thrashing like crazy.

    Any/all replies appreciated.
