Hi, here is my problem I installed Vista x64 on my ifl90 after my XP install crashed badly.... I first tried the 174.74 but even though the installer said success nothing was installed at all... I then tried the 174.93, than installed but the nvidia control panel is nowhere to be found.... I tried reinstalling in safe-mode, using driver cleaner then reinstalling but that didn't change anything: 174.74 never touched my disk and the nv control panel never installed with the 174.93... What give? btw I got the drivers from lv2g and the driver that came with the lappy(157.63) install fine but the 174.93 is better... How do I get the nvcp to work? Is there any way to install it without having to go trough the driver installer?

Have you tried the 175 series? Are you using the Modified INF?

There is a folder in both of the drivers you listed above that is called "original infs". One of those will probably have the right inf for your specific card. I suggest not using the modified inf and use a original if you can.

There should be a post somewhere on LV2G. But you need to find your Device ID which will be listed in device manager, under Details Tab, and Device Instance ID. The entire device id won't be listed in the INF. If you wan't. Just post your Device ID, and I will search the file on mine and tell you which one should work.

Here you guys the 175.75s are working great.

Heres the link from x-fastest (where laptopvideo2go got and get their drivers alot).

    http://www.xfastest.com/viewthread.php?tid=10308

The setup should work great out out the box since it has infs which support the 8600m.

What cleavage splash? never got anything like that.
And yes, all drivers should work if you use the modded inf.

Hmm. I don`t have any more new games to base my testing upon, newest one installed is ..well,GRID and that already works out nicely.
I`ll do the usual 3dmark now, 3dmark after test.
Last week? Lol. First some guy tells me growing beards is called puberty now I`m last week.

Your growing a beard while in puberty? What?! You are an outstanding one. Time for bed, 530 in the morning.
