I would say no! I haven't tested game performance, but 3dmark score was actually worse than 175.63 - however the biggest issue was that it didn't support standby on my AsusG1s.

I switched back completely from the 175s to 174.74 which is best performing driver for me (best overclockable and best 3dmark performance)

I`m wondering, do they have powermizer or flickering issues? Tried an earlier 175.x version and they were horrid.

A user on the LV2G forum reported errors in Control Panel with this driver, anyone else encountered similar problem?

wow 400 points.. thats really interesting...i'm surprised that a driver can make such difference in 3dmark. i think its because you have an 8800GTX which its currunt drivers suck i guess?

I`m also still using 174.93 , so if you`re seing an increase, I might just give them a try in a few minutes.

control panel worked for me, however as written above the laptop didn't wakeup anymore, when set to standby...

Seems like the 174s weren't optimized for the 8800s then, that's quite strange...do you have screenshots? It was quite the other way round for me - about 100 3dmark points less than with 174.74 (8600mgt ddr3)

175.70 gave me great 3dmark scores on my M1530. But it did not handle temps to well. Just idle temps tho. Also I got alot of strange flickering.

FYI this is on XP not Vista.

does it make a noticeable difference over 174.31? infact does any of the 175.xx drivers make any noticeable difference in terms of video frames per second and game playability vs 174.xx drivers?

I don't care about 3dmark score, I only care about ingame performance ... and this driver gave the best gain in performance since I have my laptop (it came with 167 originally).

    174.93 served me better overall...

No,I`m dual booting. Although, I haven`t totally set up vista.
I`m trying to convince myself Vista is actually the future.
Xp looks like crap when compared to vista`s nice aero and cleartype fonts...

Had X64 before. The only real issues I had with it were with some older games and my USB sound card not having the sound manager console working.
But I already have a kickass sound system, should not be an issue :)

Hmmm... that's weird. I've had ZERO issues so far. :) And all older games that I've tried so far (games as old as 300MB full installation size) run perfectly when I use Windows XP SP2 compatibility mode. :)

i am confused now, my EA Sports games like NBA Live 08 and Fifa dont work well in any drivers excepth the 167.53 my laptop came with...
these games run so bad on any drivers except these thats its unplayabe;, 15-19 fps in sports game at the lowest settings is pretty ugly and gives me a headache.
on 167.53 the run at a solid 60 fps at maximum settings and resolution
