178.xx was a huge improvement for me over past series (~+10-15% FPS in games)

I'm still on 175.19, is this new driver really worth the download? I take it a modified inf isn't really necessary for this.

    Hi.

The .inf has already been mod.ded

Unless you know what you are doing, and can get yourself back to 175.19 if this go wrong, do not upgrade!

    Regards

    John.

I used the Vista32 version, and the driver was already modded, dont know about the rest, you have to use the HAVE DISK method to install it , do not run the setup as it will not work.

read this from help in installing

    Regards

    John,

178.26 is out as well. It's designed for Quadro, but performance is very close to 178.13 (less than 2% difference in 3dmark06, less than 0.2% difference in GPU part of 3dmark06). If I tested it without other programs running like I usually do, it may have been equal. I recommend it if you're running Quadro.

I haven't actually seen that much of a performance increase since 174.31, but those were official Dell drivers, so they may have benefitted somewhat from that.

I like the new tiger avatar, John.

Yep, 178.24 definitely runs better than any of the previous drivers

But hotter as well. Kinda dangerous for a laptop. (Peaked up to 84 C)
