180.42 on 8400m GS?

I dowloaded from laptopvideo2go and used the modded INF, but some strange things were happening. My fan kept turning on and off, switching every second or so. Everything seemed normal except that my fan would go from off to 100% in the matter of a second, stop and repeat. Also, I tried some good old CoD2 MP and rivatuner rated my core temp at up to 98 degrees! I feel like that's probably wrong, but that doesn't help explain the fan problem. Currently back using 175.97. Thoughts, suggestions? Any help is appreciated.

 

maybe because the driver wasn't made to be used for 8400m gs?

All of the cards you just listed are desktop cards. The modded INF is supposed to add mobile Geforce compatibility, and a lot of people here in the gaming forum are talking about how they use 180.42 on their laptops.
