I know that it's well over how many months since the drivers that are optimized for GTA IV came out. I'd just like to know if it still is a good idea to use the driver even if patches have already gone out to improve the games performance..

Also, I want to ask, is it advisable to use DOX 180.84 or should I just stick to my current drivers? (Current driver is DOX 185.85)

Yeah, just a quick question. ;p thanks in advance!

The problem with GTA IV is that it runs differently on pretty much every single system, even ones that appear identical. In my case, the drivers 180.84 are the only ones that give me performance of 30-47 fps in GTA IV. Every single other driver I try gives me stuttering and lower frame rates (-10 fps).

I found Dox optimised 180.84 is even better.

I notice higher CPU usage in other drivers, it is as if Nvidia did something in 180.84 to offload more work to the GPU but that is just my theory.

What you should do is simple, do clean uninstalls and installs of new graphic drivers using Driver Sweeper and safe mode etc, then test the frame rates of all of your games, particularly GTA IV paying special attention to any stuttering or slow downs.

I didn't get any performance increases from the GTA IV patches though.
