Dude latest WHQL drivers are usually worse than lots of the betas from what I have seen. I have played a few more games now and this driver is much better. Not only that, but it handles my HDTV much better and the control panel is way more responsive. For now these are keepers.

Sorry but saying to stick with the WHQL in my opinion is not sound advice. With the 190.38 WHQL my resolution would change all the time switching between my HDTV and my laptop screen and that is completely fixed plus I get better FPS in all my games.

    190.56 over 190.38? YES!

    Any proves for these?
Because I am GPU forceware lover too. I would like to get the best driver for my notebook.
However, each notebook/pc/or whatever is different. Sometime, it might be great for certain notebook/pc/or whatever but also bad for some of them.

Pfffff...i'm on 186.03 and i'm too lazy to change it ;-) I'm sick of changing drivers every week just to gain 1-2 fps....

If you said each week update would have extra 1-2 FPS, I would said this would be awesome!
Imagine, 4 or 5weeks later, you would have 10FPS extra!! LOL!
    Worth changing!

Just I have 190.56 on my desktop and it works fine. But for my laptop COD4 would suddenly go laggy on my 10 min into a match. I have to restart the game and it would be smooth again. Went back to .38

You know what i meant. Those 1-2 fps i talked about mostly concerned the latest games released. I only play Bioshock right now, why the hell i would upgrade to 190.xxx ;-)

Stating that these drivers are great doesn't really mean anything since it will vary with each system.

For me, I get less performance and a little stuttering in GTA IV that I never get with Dox Optimised 185.85 so I am going back to those right now.

Dox's 182.46 is still the best driver for me. The 185.85 driver gives better frame rates in games, but it causes small mini-freezes in windows. Completely unacceptable in my book.

I just did a clean install of Windows 7, might try some new display drivers when it comes time for the next clean install. Probably soon...

I'm currently using Toshiba's 186.05--nice eye candy but got a sizeable fall off in FPS in benchmarks. After using it about a week the eye candy is still there and getting better fps than ever.

I'm using DOX's 180.84 since this gives me the highest FPS in GTA IV as well as some games. (180.84 are those optimized for GTA IV right?)

I'm not sure though--did someone upgrade from them to the new 190.xx ones? Any drops in GTA IV framerates?

Yes they are optimised for GTA IV, it seems Nvidia some how transfer a bit more load to the GPU and away from the CPU but that's just my theory really. I used to be stuck on Dox Optimised 180.84 because every other driver would give me lower performance and stuttering in GTA IV.

After I found that a new game was not working properly in 180.84 I had to find some other solution.

After I upgraded to Windows 7, I found that I could use newer drivers, get better performance in many other games (an extra 20 fps in one) and still not lose performance in GTA IV.

I am now using Dox Optimised 185.85, the new game works properly now and GTA IV performs just as well if not better.

The INF's for those two drivers have support for notebooks, but the base code is still pretty much the same as "desktop" drivers.

Well I'll tell you guys what. I get better FPS with these 190.56 drivers than any DOX drivers give me for my newer games so thats why I am using them. Also as stated above, yes, they are great for me and it will vary for every different system, but I just wanted to let you guys know that the drivers are out and they are good for me so you all could have a chance to try them for your selves!

I tried many drivers with modded inf and it's not worth it at all most of the time. Poor performance compared to Dox or mobile nvidia. I don't think it's just an INF story. Drivers meant for notebook always did a better job. At least on my rig ;)

    20 fps?! Whoa.

Anyway, are you planning to try the 190.xx series? Might try grabbing the 185.85 though, but I remember having tried that and getting about 4 fps less in GTA IV. Am running WinVista right now.

Everyone, the link for the 190.xx drivers displays Win7 and WinXP. Can I use the Win7 one for Vista?

im not sure about overall performance. i dont game, and i dont have any utils that measure fps.. however, all other drivers i had tried including uptil 186 had glitches with my external monitor (refresh rate always setting itself to 25MHZ) among other things ( i rolled back to some 174's)... as far as i can tell, these drivers work great! finally...

(one problem i'm having, it auto changes color settings back to default whenever i connect or disconnect to my external monitor... the default settings look good, actually, except for facial tones are very pinkish)

OK, howcome teh color settings for "Other applications control color settings" have changed by themself after a reboot? now everything looks washed out, and i cant get to the custom Nvidia color settings unless i manually change it every time.l ahhhhh

The 20 fps increase I got was in Street Fighter 4 by the way. I already tried the 190.xx series and although performance is good, I get stuttering in GTA IV. It might be different for you since you are using Vista.

I find Windows 7 to provide better performance in everything, even when I was back on XP.

The 4 fps less you got in GTA IV could have been due to the Nvidia Control panel settings. They are reset back to default on every new graphics driver install.

i found that the 190.xx drivers ran my laptop hotter by 10'C at idle, and about 8'C hotter when gaming. no performance increase either. if anything, worse.
dox 181.xx have been the benchmark drivers for me, but the 186.03 improved real gaming fps by about 5fps and made it look better as well, even though they give poor 3dmark scores.

Benchmark is not equal to Real Game Performance. Your statement is correct.
Some forceware drivers give high benchmark. However, while playing real game, it is a whole different story.
Yet, each laptop/pc/computer are different. Some computer work well with DOX(gain better performance on almost every thing). Some computers work well with Nvidia Original driver. Some even work well with Nvidia BETA drivers.
There is no confirmation say that which driver is the BEST.

    WHQL legit/legal Driver for Geforce Mobile(currently) = 186.03
Beta Driver for Geforce Mobile-Modded(currently) = 190.XX(latest would be 190.56)
    DOX Driver for Geforce Mobile(currently) = 185.85

Don't know. But it will be alright.
Powermizer is not needed for overclockers XD!
Use Nvidia System Tools(nTune) to create profiles and told the profiles to act on situation. It will be same like PowerMizer but I call it Personal/Home Made PowerMizer.

    for 190.38...
190.56 seem to have better framerates but i haven't run the gta iv benchmarks with the new one. the quality is pretty good. in terms of smoothness, the 186.12 were very nice. wish i'd taken screenshots with each driver to compare visuals side-by-side.

    lol

Its hot in my city so i cant overclock for another month or 2 perhaps, till it cools down.

Its not for lowering the clocks but it messes up freezes for 1 sec every 30 sec of game play, WDM doesn't work properly. this is what i have heard. anyone have something similar and does these perform faster than 186
