    Hey guys.

I'm buying a Dell xps 15, but i'm having a hard time chosing between the two graphic cards:
1GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M and 2GB NVIDIA GeForce GT 540M.

    The 2GB cost $46 more.

    Is it worth it?

Ignore the memory number, it's largely meaningless. Yes, upgrading to the 540 is worth $46. If you're going to be gaming, though, there are better choices.

Both cards are low performance cards. If your not a gamer, the better choice will be to save the 46$. The battery time will probably be longer on the GT 525M.

If your a casual gamer, the GT 540M will be worth every cent.

Considering you're posting in the gaming forum, I'm assuming you want to play some games so go for the 540m. It will play most games quite well at 720p and medium settings. It's the same GPU in the M11x R3 and they seem pretty satisfied with it.

for $46 you roughly get 15% performance increase and 10 watts more power consumption. both shall handle current games ok in low resolution such as 1366x768 with medium settings.
