    hi folks,

In terms of trying to future proof a little is it better for me to go for

    2 x Nvidia GeForce Go 9800M GT 512MB(Enables SLI )

    2 x Nvidia GeForce Go 9800M GTX 1GB (Enables SLI )

It may seem obvious but i wonder if the 1GB GTX is really worth the additional £425.58 or should i just stick with the 9800m GT512mb cards?

I'll find my way eventually lol

    Thanks

    Ark

Well, to most there isn't enough of a difference in performance to justify the hefty premium placed on the GTX, but please, don't let that stop you.

Well, the GTX isnt that much better than the 9800gt. It is the next step up, but an extra US $630 or 429 euros aint worth it for ****. Believe me, the 9800m gt is good enough. but with the 9800m gtx, thats what you get for the absolute best. 100x the cost, not much performance gain. get the 9800m gt sli!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The GT sli is best bang for buck. You won't notice the difference between the setup until a game is making the GT sli crawl at 5-10 FPS. At that point, the GTX sli would be getting 15 FPS at best. It's that much difference.

Those seem to be just a little higher scores from 9800GT SLI. When u combine them with Q9550 the get just under 14.000 so u have 400-500 extra 3dmark06 points. I have my GTX SLI on order but with Q9650 so hopefully I should be getting over 15.000ptk in 3dmark06. But even then its still not worth the extra cash.

you guys waste so much money on graphics cards. Just get one graphics card, you probably will not notice much of a difference between a single 9800GTX and a dual 9800GTX setup. You should just buy a cheap laptop and a awesome desktop, for the price that is going to cost you.

I beg to differ, when it comes to gaming, SLI is the difference from smooth at WUXGA or smooth at WXGA+ ...
    Besides, he`s into futureproofing.
I`d say go for the SLI 9800M GT's and save the money for the future...
