    Well one is desktop cpu the other in mobile..

    Obviously the desktop would be better...

    It also runs at a higher speed so the comparison is not fair..

    The video card matters a lot more. Both of those CPUs are extremely powerful.

    Ok thanks. Reason I'm asking is because I saw somewhere else that that lower clocked mobile CPU's were faster than the desktop versions clocked at the same speeds...i.e. a 2.2ghz mobile proc would be faster than a 3.0ghz desktop proc. Perhaps I misunderstood, but I was wonderin if the same principal was applied here as well being that the Conroe is a desktop proc. Thanks again :)

    You're thinking of the mobile CPUs vs. the Pentium 4. Just about anything will beat one of those these days. The new CPUs like the Core 2 Duo do not need to run at a high frequency because they get so much done per clock cycle.
