What better way to start your school year than playing a bunch of games? Going to class and studying is overrated and optional anyways.

Because I am a nice but stupid guy and buy more extra games than I can ever really share or even play realistically (darn 4-pack Steam sales), I am opening up a contest to give games out to users here at NBR. Entering is simple, but *you must follow the rules and read this entire post to qualify*.

I have 53 total games to give away, some of them duplicates. The games that are being given away are shown below and have a hotlink to the Steam page for that game, as well as quantity available. Please educate yourself on which game you want. I know it's a tough job to make such a decision, but probably the biggest one you'll make all semester besides which classes to skip. So choose wisely.

I will disqualify users for not obeying the rules. I have no time to fart around, I'm in the middle of a basement flood cleanup and kids going back to school. I'm a mean old man with patience about as long as my pinky nail. So pay attention or get off my lawn!


THE RULES!

1. You must be an NBR member since before August 1, 2014 with more than 10 posts by August 1, 2014, has an active post in the last year, and must not be banned at time of the drawing.
2. You must have a Steam user account and provide your Steam user profile url in the form. If I can't find you with that username, then you're doing it wrong. Easiest way is to log into Steam, click on your username at top and go to 'profile'. Right click background and choose 'copy page URL' and paste it into the form. It should be something like http://steamcommunity.com/id/htwingnut/
3. You must be legally able to accept and play the games that you win or enter to win (i.e. if you have to ask your mom, forget about entering).
4. Winners will have 48 hours to claim their prize otherwise it will go to the next contender.
5. There will be three game entries on the form to enter. This is so that when I draw random numbers and the games you want are already taken from someone luckier than you, it gives you a couple more chances to get at least some game you want without feeling like a total loser. Please choose the games in priority order you would like them.
6. You must enter the secret code: Wonka in the form so I know you can read or at least pretend to.
7. You can change your entry at any time, any earlier entries with your NBR username will be deleted. In short, duplicate entries will be deleted, and will keep the latest entry.
8. Only one game can be won by any entrant.
9. Make a comment about something game and school related in this thread (not spam).
10. Rules can change at any moment because I'm like that.
11. No whining!

The drawing will be random and take place sometime on the weekend of August 23 & 24. Winners will be notified of their prize through NBR Private Messaging. You must respond and provide me with your email address or send a friend request on Steam within 48 hours after drawing to win your prize, or it will go to the next entrant.

It may take me several days to get back to you though, don't get angry. Just remember, you're the one groveling for free stuff and skipping class. Good luck!

Im curious, do you buy all these as gifts and store them in your inventory? Can games bought to your own account be given away? Im asking because I have a couple (on my account) Ill probably never install.

Yes you can buy and store them as gifts. Many of them are 4-packs where you basically get an additional 25% off if you buy four at once, usually for multiplayer games of course. Some of them were gifted to me from people that passed them on, but I already had the game.

Back in my day, rick-rolling was especially mean. It involved a dedicated site that blasted the lyrics at you in waves of Javascript alert()s. But since then modern browsers have prevented this. Being rick-rolled now is not such a pain. Flash videos do not automatically play if you have plug-ins set to 'click-to-run'.

Pay Day 2 is my brother's current favorite but I'm too busy saving money to buy any games. Finally returning to school this fall. Maybe finish degree this time.

 

Sleep is expendable in university

But undergrad was great fun. In grad school, free time becomes a thing of the past, and everything except your project becomes expendable. Bleh.

 

I don't want any additional games but I'm glad someone here is very generous. ^_^
