2142 Problem

Hi

I recently bought 2142 and installed it with no problem. I booted the game and selected a server to play on. I was in the server for around 2-3 minutes and the i was kicked. the only message i got said "Punkbuster". I tried this on a few other servers and it occured on every one, kicking me and giving me the one word message. Is there some way i can fix this?

i had this same problem when it first came out, i manually updated punkbuster to include bf2142 and have had few problems since. the bf2142 forums helped me out a lot for problems with the game.

 

You need to configure your firewall to allow both pnkbstr.A and pnkbstr.B to have access to your network. Punkbuster A is configured to load on your computer on start-up, Punkbuster B is loaded only after you enter a server.

Depending on your OS/ security software, just updating manually will not resolve the issue in some cases. Because Punkbuster has now become pure malware, some antivirus programs have a hard time letting it run. Mcafee is one such example , I struggled to get my Mcafee system to let 2142 run. The best place to go would be totalbf2141 forums, as many have had these very irritating issues.
