    I plan on getting an dv9000t HP notebook with a 256MB NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) Go 7600 graphics card.

Power wise, is it enough to run most other games on high settings?

    System specs so far:

Genuine Windows Vista Home Premium (32-bit)
    Intel(R) Core(TM) 2 Duo T5300(1.73GHz/2MB L2Cache)
    17.0" WXGA+ BrightView Widescreen (1440x900)
    Memory 2GB DDR2 System Memory (2 Dimm)
    256MB NVIDIA(R) GeForce(R) Go 7600
    Intel(R) PRO/Wireless 3945ABG
    80GB 5400RPM SATA Hard Drive
    CD/DVD Drive Super Multi 8X DVD+/-R/RW w/Double Layer Support
    8 Cell Lithium Ion Battery

Gaming rig - Will just have game/mirc/Vent running @ once.

    Thank ya.

The 7600 is a mainstream card, will play current games at mid settings .

If you tell me what games you're looking at I can give you a pretty good idea, as my last laptop had that card.

I remember that played the following games on high (maxed), no problems:
    - Half-Life 2
    - SiN Episodes: Emergence
    - Doom III
    - Quake 4
    - Far Cry
    - Max Payne 2
    - Medal of Honor: Pacific Assault
    - Unreal II
    - Unreal Tournament 2004

    And obviously any older games.

Played F.E.A.R. on high settings and it was playable as long as you don't enable AA or anything like that. You'll have to switch a few settings to medium to get it fairly playable, too. S.T.A.L.K.E.R. needs to be played in DX8 mode to be playable.

World of warcraft will run at high settings easy.

    Crysis... no way in hell.

How about Crysus on Medium settings with a 1024 x 768 resolution?

I would suggest the Dell Inspiron E1705 or the Gateway NX860XL for gaming rather than the HP dv9000t - they have Nvidia Go7900GS 256MB video cards, which are far more powerful than the Go7600.

Or, if you really feel like sticking with HP, try the dv9500t, which is the updated 17" model with Santa Rosa and DX10 technology. The 8600M GS in the dv9500t is about 50% faster than the Go 7600 and should be able to play Crysis at low settings.
