    Hello,

My friend has an Alienware M5550 and he really likes it. He got it when it was on a deal day or something, and it cost him 999 plus shipping. I think it has a 1.88 Ghz processor, and one gig of memory, and vista home basic.

He can run Medieval Total War II completely fine, which confuses me because all I ever hear around here is to get a 8600 GS or GT.

Now, a stock Alienware M5550 comes with a 1.66 Ghz processor, but I would like the 2.0 Ghz.

    It can also come with a 256MB NVidia® GeForce™ Go 7600.

Now, is this a good Graphics Card??? Because it is 256MB and the 8600's I have seen are only 128MB.

Is the Go good? And is the 7600 good?

    Thanks.

It's a fine graphics card, but you can get a 8600m GT in a Dell for around $1000.

As for the graphics card, it was fine in it's day, but it's outdated. It doesn't have the shading power for current and upcoming games.

Also, the amount of VRAM has nothing to do with the power of the card, so don't base any decisions on that. Read the sticky in this forum for more info.
