my sager isn't here yet. tomorrow is the day it comes. so i can't test anything right now. i will do it when it comes. i will wait outside for it. lol. but i have runs from my 3870 i can show i just need a game.

 

i got at tester a while back when we we're going over how he could better his scores...but i haven't talked to him in a while. he ran some over clocked gpu only runs..since he was about the only one who could actually over clock his above the standard going rate....of 600/900, but i forget what he got...

 

farcry2 is a real time benchmark and it is the same in game. i was playing it and the same way it preformed in the game was the same in the benchmark. dmc4 is just str8 gpu's.


i heard about fear2 demo. xterain demo(i don't know how to spell that.)

 

i OC'd i think to 720-740/1025 stable in 3dmarks

run that but use the ati crossfire extension 1.4 because it's support crossfire.

 

ughhh i cant find the bench mark...

 

but you didn't have a 4850 or a 4870..

 

we were talking about two runs,
1 to see why ati's are cpu dependant and to see if it is because of the core clocks. and if we up'd the clocks if it will do the job instead of giving it to the cpu.

2. is to finall see how the 4850 vs the 280m vs he 9800m gtx stand. i'll look or someone if i an find them.

yeah i was thinking about that also. he should be a bull not a cow lol. i never passed 700/900 not because i was scared or anything. it was just completly unstable. and when i clicked apply it would just clock down.


mr bull, what driver did you use? i used 8.10 for my overclocks.

 

What kind of benchmarks of tester are you after, i can request them from him .

dmc4 super high, 2aa, 4aa, 8a, 16aa,(i had this option with the right driver tweaks. i don't know if he has it.)

crysis high, very high

if he has an overclock that high. he should beat my 3870 CF.

Next time Tester is on, will have him run as many tests as he can

His overclocks are 690/1100 i believe. (custom bios flash + maybe decent thermal replacement.)

I took the 6gb ram (1333) cuz it was explained to me that with the power of the gpu and processor its wise to have a good amount( and fast) of ram to support them both ? If that isnt to smart i could always put it back down to 4 i mean it saves me some cash if its not needed as much considering its an extra 450 lulz...

 

I think 4 is appropriate for the majority things, but 6 is good too lol, cant you just get 2-4gb and buy the extra 2-4 gb?? save 450! lol

if it was that unstable i wouldn't clock that high

also it may have been unstable because the memorey chips were getting over heated. I ran my test with 4 120mm desktop fans with the service cover off




now the clock speed i could not go any higher i would run but as soon as i stressed it in 3dmark i would freeze.... 735-740 would just freeze right away

john didn't say anything either or no one else. he just stated that you didn't have the 4850 or 4870.

yeah...was not talking about your over clock mr moo. it was more about the 4870's...but now that viciousxusmc has his machine back..he said he would check it out...

he said he had it at 800/1100....

 

That's actually the limit he imposed on the VBIOS on the card, so the card can overclock past the original 600/900 limit. An actual overclock of 800/1100 for these cards would be great, but impossible.

 

Maybe with even more driver release, the card could be clocked further.

 

ok i'm ready and set. not really. lol. i got it earlier today. so i am installing everything. i think nvidia has change since last year correct. i was going to ati's site to start downloading everything. lol


there's a beta driver out so i am going to try those. i am also installing stuff. it will take alittle i want to see what this can do.

 

yea 750 on core is a no go and we cant flash the cards

Well MR moo, wip out the nitrogen and be prepaired to freeze that thing

 

So...errr...is it worth it? I've read that tests show that the 2 GPUs don't run at 100%..Can someone link me to that test?
Also does that apply to both SLI/Crossfire systems?

yea it applys to both

they both run but you will not get exactly double the performance. But you will get 60-90% depending on drivers and games

 

in certain games you sill get 0-100%(100percent is very rare)


dmc4 the 2nd and 4th run gave me double fps on the benchmarks
