thanx . well i searched , XBITLABS ,HOTHARDWARE, ANANDTECH , EXTREMETECH , TOMSHARDWARE , and finally Techreport , and i found the becnhmark of 2x7950GT SLI vs 8800GTX and 8800GTS
    ,
    http://techreport.com/reviews/2006q4/geforce-8800/index.x?pg=11

2x7950GT(2xGO7950GTX) SLI ,some times beat a 8800GTX or it performs close to it , so will 2x7950gt be good for future games ?
    thanx

    Well don't forget 8800 is a dx10 capable card..
So you can't play dx10 games with the 7950..

Also don't forget sli doesn't always perform as it should...

For notebooks,it's the most powerful card for now...It will be good for future games, but in dx9 mode..

If I was going for something that screamed, I'd go with the SLI'd 7950's. All games you can buy now will FLY at full resolution with that setup. If you're looking for a little more future proofing, go with an 8600 or 8800, which will play DX10 games as well as current games, but just not quite as fast as the SLI'd rig. They will also probably use a bit less power, too, as compared to two 7950's, so be more amenable for actually unplugging the laptop.

what's more futureproofing about directx10 if you can't play games a bit well in directx10 with only one 8600GT?
Just go for the sli stuff if you want smooth games. Directx10 and notebooks arent a match yet i think. Or you have to wait for the go8800, but that will take some time.

Edit: " Directx10 and notebooks arent a match yet i think" this sentence is only about high end 17inch or larger notebooks!

If you get that SLi 7950GTX setup, you will be set for years. You will just not be able to experience the DX10 effects, but I don't know if I care much about that.

I've been lucky enough to have experience with both a laptop with SLI Go 7950GTX's, and a desktop with a 8800 GTX Superclocked recently. Framerates have been nearly identical across the board. This is with the 7950's running under Windows XP and the 8800 running under Vista. The 8800 machine is also using a Core 2 Duo E6300 at 1.86ghz with 2Mb L2 Cache, where the laptop with the 7950's was running the 2.4 ghz E6600 with 4Mb L2 Cache.

Read from that what you will.

Extreme cpu bottleneck for the 8800...

Anyway the thing is that for laptop there is nothing better for the time being,so if you want the best you go SLI.

Extreme doesn't quite cover it. For the record, I am getting something better soon.

I think Maziar was looking for a desktop card that is equivalent to something he has seen in a laptop, or am I reading this wrong?

Remember that with these high end cards, the only benefit your getting from running two in an sli setup is to be able to run smoother at higher resolutions. A single 7950GTX Go should run at a pretty high resolution as it is at maximum settings smoothly. If you want to run at extremely high resolutions...then sli is where it's at.

Yup, higher scores will be most significant at higher resolutions.
