Hmm. I'm not sure whats up. Here is my guess. You may have gotten "suckered" by the 319MB. The card is probably a 64MB GPU with 256MB of hyper memory (or whatever Nvidia calls it). Which means that the card really only has 64MB of dedicated ram, and just pulls the other 256 off of the system when it needs it.

You must have purchased an HP. The test didn't actually fail. The graphics card that you have probably only has 64mb of dedicated memory, the rest, 255, is shared. (Actually, it's 256. The total should be 320)

HP has a habit of adding up shared memory and dedicated memory when they list the specs for their graphics cards.

ON their website, they list the nVidia card with 128mb of dedicated memory as having 383mb of memory (128+255)

It's not just HP, other manufacturers, including Sony, do this crap too by referring to Total Available Graphics Memory instead of Dedicated VRAM. Then they use a footnote that defines "Total Available Graphics Memory" but still doesn't clue you in on the actual amount of dedicated VRAM:
BLAH, BLAH, I still think it's confusing ! Peace.

Yep, everyone above is right. You have an HP dv2500t. It comes with 64 Mb 8400m GS. However, failing the test doesn't mean you can't play the game. If you name the game, I will tell you if you can play it or not.

well its not that big of a deal i don't play many games on my comp as i have an adequate desktop for games as well as every nex gen console. I was just wondering about the 64mb deal.

That is b.s. though, i'm thinking about sending this thing back if thats even possible (yes it is a dv2500t). After deleting the crapware (cant reinstall until my vista dvd gets here from compusa) and the comp sits for a while mozilla becomes unresponsive from the desktop.

You have 21 days to send it back if you're not happy with it.
