I don't know too much about GPUs so whats the difference between a 319MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M(with 64mb of dedicated graphics) and a 128MBNVIDIA®QuadroNVS135M, and whats the difference in power between them for gaming purposes?

The quadro is a card for a business comp, so how does it fare in general gaming?

The GeForce series is designed and optimised for gaming. The nVidia Quadro is optimised for professional graphical applications like AutoCAD, and many 3D modelling programs.

So if your a gamer, your better off going for the nVidia GeForce 8M series. The Dedicated RAM is Memory inbuilt into the GPU, ie: 64MB of RAM is. The remaining 225MB is borrowed from the Main System RAM.

Are you sure that 8400 has only 64MB of dedicated RAM?

Can someone correct if I'm wrong? :p

Thanks for the information, yes it would be a 8400 (with 64mb discrete) on an HP dv2500t. As opposed to the Quadro is on a Lattitude D630. I really like the more professional build quality of the business laptops, but I do like to game some. My current computer is an old hunk of junk so the best I can play is like Warcraft III. It would be nice to be able to play some current or slightly older shooter games, they don't need to be on high settings or anything though.

The only game coming out in the future, that I'd really be interested in playing is Starcraft 2.

I'm sure the 8400M GS will be able to play stuff like FEAR at low settings, and stuff like HL2 and CSS at mid-high settings. The 8400M GS will almost certainly play Starcraft 2 - Blizzard isn't known for making their games very graphics intensive, and from the initial shots of SC2, the graphics don't look that intensive.
