Since 32bit OSs cant see more than 3gb of ram...would it be safe to assume that if you were to get 4gb of ram, the other 1gb would not be able to be used by the hypermemory/turbocache technology on the gpu?

That'd be pretty sweet if it could, though.

Yes, I think it is safe to say that it is not used. I have 4Gb and I wish my G1S would used that extra 1Gb. Oh well, I'll just have to upgrade to 64-bit, what a shame ;) (not).

yea, i just read somewhere in another thread that if the OS can't see the extra memory, then it can't tell the graphics driver to use it

it wouldnt matter anyway. dedicating a gig of your system's ram to your gpu isn't going to increase its performance. its unfortunate, as the words "turbo" and "hyper" imply "fast."

but seriously. that extra gig of memory is helping out just as much doing nothing as it would be were it assigned to your gpu.
