    What screen resolution?

The 5850 is substantially better than the 335m.

umm since its from the mx15 i am guessing 1600x(XXX) 14 inch screen.

i was thinking about the mx11 but it has the gt335m but comes with a 128gb SSD.

i'm still debating on which one to get and their about the same price. should i grab the one with SSD or the one with an original HDD and probably get a SSD later. (sorry if it doesn't fit this section in a rush to decide)

If you want that laptop to last longer, go with 5850. Often times, laptops are bottlenecked by graphics card. But if you really want SSD, then I guess you should go with mx11...

SSD won't make your games perform faster. You may need to spell out your needs a bit more.

i am going to be programming @ MATC. its in WI. so i'll be using linux/unix and perl. i definitely need the 500gb and the SSD is for probably later needs i just want to get it over with so that i can be sure that this laptop will last me for the next 4 years.

gaming is something i'll do on the meantime but i already have a beast of a rig.

just thinking i'm going to use it for school and work when i'm bored (part-time)
