So, I tried my PC with both, and obtained different FPS. Why is that, why 3D Mark '06 gives me far less FPS rates than 3D Mark '05?
I mean, the "games" tested in '05 and '06 look the same to me, aren't they?
    Thanks for the help.

3DMark06 is more demanding than '05 so you would expect a lower overall score and FPS.

As abaxter said, because 06 is a newer version, targeted at newer hardware. That means it requires more processing power, and will give you a lower score and a lower framerate. :)
Try running 3dMark03 or 01 and check your score in those. :)

3DMark06 is designed for newer hardware as posted, chiefly the latest generation of cards that have Shader Model 3.0 (GeForce 7 series, Radeon X1000). You can still run '06 with cards that go up to SM 2.0 (ATI X700 for example), but it's not really a fair benchmark because those cards can't complete the SM 3.0 tests.

Another reason that 3DMark06 runs so much slower than '05 is because it runs at a higher resolution (1280x1024 vs. 1024x768). There are a lot more lighting effects too.
