Additioanl info here - AnandTech - 3DMark Fire Strike Trailer
Must admit the trailer seems very heavy for the GPUs but looks very nice! -
Fat Dragon Just this guy, you know?
What's the point in comparing across platforms? I guess I can kind've understand iOS versus Android, but why build that into the PC benchmark software? The usage and power are completely different.
-
No cats?
Why cross-platform? Game are going to be tablet/phone port soon -
I cannot wait to download and try, hopefully won't cause disappointment like 05, 06 and Vantage.
-
Why crossplatform? There will be different tests involved. The 3D mark for PC's features 1 DX9, 1 DX10 and 1 DX11 (Fire Strike) test runs, and the mobile platform others. There're pleople out there who overclock mobile devices as well as they tend to become twice as powerful every year) they are of course capable of running decent games as well. We'll hopefully find out more later this year!
-
Thank god, I`m sick of Vantage and 3DMark. About bloody time something new arrived
-
Awesome! Can't wait, good with something new
(guess it almost is)
Hopefully we'll get more accurate results this time, 3DMark11 is starting to show its age. -
Yay... More lets watch the computer play boredom
-
Excellent. Looking forward to the 1fps on my system!

and then there is this guy

If there's one thing wrong with 3DMark, it's that it needs moar kitties. -

Fire Strike motion capture session - Page 2
Might be released 4th Feb... not sure though, nothing is true, everything is permitted -
So they did release it finally. Dying to try this out on my laptop on 4th Feb, are we planning to have a dedicated thread for benchmark scores of 2013.
-
Why is everyone so excited about a benchmark? It's like getting excited for a commercial. I'll likely run it when it arrives, but sounds like Fire Strike will bring every laptop to its knees. I like Catzilla a lot better. Very unique and interesting and scalable.
But yeah, odd that they make it cross platform. Herr derr, I get a score of P0.2 on my Android, take THAT Windows! -
Personally I've been really lazy uploading new high scores and such, but keeping screens of the achievements really shows me how much technology is advancing. Several years ago, getting 8k with a M1730 on Vantage was considered INSANE, now it's basically nothing. -
I guess what I was trying to say came out kinda wrong, as I am anticipating this benchmark like any other one. I was more referring to some other comments users made at some other sites how people are actually anxiously anticipating this benchmark as much as a AAA game release. It'll be 5 minutes of 3D for benchmarking purposes.

Im interested in what the actual differences are going to be... I mean other than just a new Benchmark. I swear if they finally enabled Hyper-threading and multi-threaded (Over 4) CPU's i would be so excited... I could finally utilize my i7's full potential!

Does anyone see a way to "Run All Tests" for the entire series without the silly demos? I don't really care to watch the demos more than one time, so I am running each test standalone with the demo box unchecked. I like how the results display for the series when they are all run at once. Results posted over here [ LINK]

Hi mate. quite a long test isnt it.
tbh it might be better posting back in the thread i started yesterday http://forum.notebookreview.com/gaming-software-graphics-cards/707365-3dmark-released.html as everyone else is replying on there. i did try to keep the disscussion and results seperate but it didnt work -

Quagmire LXIX Have Laptop, Will Travel!
Anyone notice how default (i.e. only way to get an overall score) Fire Strike uses Trilinear instead of AFx16, seems beyond silly to me...
-
turn on af in ccc then. good benchmark btw. unstable with my card but good

I think you're missing the point of quality testing (who doesn't crank up the AF when gaming) and comparable results to which is the life blood of Futuremark.
