    3D games?

    Are there any good 3D games out there? Debating the 3D version of M17x...but I don't see any games except for consoles...?

    Oh I get it..nvidia lists a ton on the website..so its the PC that makes them 3D vs them being "3D games" per say??

    Basically a 3D game is any game that Nvidia has profiled (or ATI has their DDD or whatever profile). Because of the way graphics rendering works, 3D games are basically two renders from slightly different viewpoints so one goes to each eye, giving the illusion of actual depth. To do that, the driver just has to understand how the game does rendering and slightly offset the viewports. It also requires whatever computer rendering it to be able to be capable of double the framerate you actually want to play at, so you will likely have to turn down settings/resolution of any game you want to play.

    Sorry for the wrong forum and thanks for the info...also look like the 485M is more powerful....wonder if Dell will update?
