Another good reason to play on a PC:
Games on 3D.

I've never had the opportunity to see/play anything in 3D with glasses.
Don't you still have to look at the screen? It's not like you turn your head and it's a 3D world... -
Right, you have to look at the screen, but believe me, it looks really real. Things bump up from your screen, you tend trying to touch them.

When I used to watch 3d movies then after a while I had some sort of headache real bad. So, I think it will be the same with this. I dont think we can have a longer gameplay but crash with a headache.

Don't worry ViciousXUSMC! Your TH2G setup will blow away anything these feeble 3D specs can offer. I don't think true perspective 3D gaming will ever become mainstream, or really important to gaming. It's been tried and failed many times, nothing more than a gimmick.
From ones I've tried it's been neat but the novelty wears off after a short while. -
I get heavy nausea when going to the IMax ... so i doubt i will like this ...

Playstation 3 is already moving in that direction.

looks cheesy. I'll be excited when they come out with real VR glasses that actually put you in the game.
-
Doesn't look too great. I like gaming as it is.

This looks like it still needs some work anyone else agree? -
so when the sims come out with a 3d roller coaster, i get to up chuck and think i'm really there. all they need now is some where so you can smell the game enviroment
-
So, this is really coming (Sorry elementhp, htwingnut).
Apparently it's the most anticipated tech for 2009.

I'm looking very forward to this.
And I would call it a novelty, it makes it sound sorta cheap.
Here's to a new era of gaming

im not blind with my glasses on
viciousxusmc we still love you and your MAD project is awsomei repped you

Actually there is a system with glasses that put one monitor in each eye. It does what you say: 3d plus head movement tracking, so you are IN the game.
However, it's expensive and it has low resolution (680x480). But don't worry, it'll get better soon. Still, the experience of seeing the screen on 3d is awesome, and cheap (~100).

conejeitor, why are you posting the same post twice? Glitch in your brain? : )

It will appear pretty much the same way without the eye-strain. -
You cannot compare imax to this AT ALL
This uses left/right synch on the glasses with the 120Hz refresh
Its WAY different, I have tried something very similar and its AMAZING, but not priceworthy right now since you need a fast display...
But it you have a 120Hz TV go right ahead!!!
And if you have low FPS then its all screwed up because you can actually feel the lag in your eyes lol -
-
Go and see a computer made 3d movie (at specialized theatres or at some amusement parks). You'll see what is like. -
Have you heard of 3D IMAX, thats what they're all talking about.

this is old tech.. i had some of these many many years ago and they are awesome looking.... they kinda died off because of the LCD boom and everyone getting rid of CRTs... and it only being usable at high refresh rates that LCDs couldnt do... as LCDs get to be able to get to 120Hz now, its making a come back.

What I mean is that a new game always takes the most of consoles, but it is usually far behind the latest PC video cards. So, only PC's will be able to play the latest games at enough FPS for yielding a good 3D effect, keeping the good graphics.
I wonder though, then it might not have such a high economic impact. I mean, for sure consoles will have the system, but they'll have to use it with lower graphic quality, or only on selected, high priced consoles. Do you agree? -

I also feel a real bad headache. Once I was for 10 days in bed with fever. Actually 3d glasses are like wearing a power glass or contact lense for people who have blur vision to see the object clea. Same with this, when our normal eyes uses those power glasses then we see star in day.

i wish that they'd somehow figure out how to implement this on 120hz LCD HDTVs. the tvs only accept a 60hz signal, but they do their own image processing to interpolate an extra frame for each input frame, so they ARE actually refreshing the picture 120 times per second.
it would be awesome if the tvs could be programmed to interpolate an offset frame for every true frame it receives. it doesn't seem like it would take that much overhead (simple image transformation am i right?) -
