Just a real quick question. Receiving my new sager 9130 with 670mx soon. I know the HDMI port can output 3D. Of course a 3D monitor is required. From what I read these 3D monitors are just basically 120hz monitors. If I have a 120hz lcd tv and output the laptop through HDMI and configure it to 120hz and purchase the nvidia 3D kit (glasses and whatever else comes in it) - would I be able to game in 3D? Or does this require a full 3D ready capable laptop/pc?

    Thanks.

I've never done it myself (don't have an nvidia gpu anymore) but all I think you'll need is Nvidia 3DTV Play software. I think it costs around 40 bucks to upgrade your pc with it. More info here: NVIDIA 3DTV Play

You don't need a 3D-capable laptop to run on an external screen though.

But you do need a 3D-capable GPU, which appears to be the case with the 670mx. As for the question, I don't know, but I'd be careful about TVs using non-shutter (passive) glasses, since Nvidia has always preferred active shutter glasses.

That's correct, I was referring to a 3D laptop screen. All of nvidia's gpus from the 630m to 680mx support 3D Vision.
