Firestrike is intended solely for SLI/Crossfire desktops with multiple GPUs? From the video interview, it sounds like Cloudgate does not stress the GPU very much, and it's more testing the CPU. So are we supposed to use Firestrike for our weak mid-range laptops?

Downloading. Will test it out on my laptop with freshly applied Arctic Silver paste.

I am prepared for the inevitable slideshow!

The guru3D download link is way too slow - 4 hours on 100Mbps connection?

Will this be added to Steam software soon, or is there a faster download mirror?

LOL. 1GB file. Reserved spot for my score I guess.

edit: dang, that's like a full length movie as long as it takes, lol. Weird thing is says drivers not approved, yet they're the latest WHQL from nVidia.

I wonder how much the scores will improve once nvidia optimizes the drivers for this?

How loud is the cpu fan when it's running at full Fox?

Should be interesting to see once we get optimized drivers. It will certainly be even more impressive than it already is.

It's pretty loud when all three fans are forced to 100%. They run at 4300 RPM max. I don't know what to compare it to. It's not insanely loud, like a vacuum cleaner or a blender, but you definitely know when they are running full blast. I don't have any way to measure decibels, but it's probably similar to the the volume of a cordless drill running at full speed but, thankfully, not the same pitch, LOL.

It is very rare... almost never, in fact... that all three fans run 100% unless I use HWiNFO64 to force them for heavily overclocked CPU benching. It's really only beneficial when all 4 cores are under 100% load above 4.2GHz. If I set a HWiNFO64 CPU profile to boost the fans to 100% at 80°C most of the time you never hear them running.

I'm sure Nvidia is already hard at work on optimizing and we'll see improvements with the next beta driver.

And thanks for explaining the fan noise so thoroughly. I just hope they'll make an m18x r4 so I can get it with 880m's in SLI.
Pretty sure that setup would destroy this benchmark. :D

Overall not to bad i'll mess around and see if i can get the scores higher. Still running off a oem windows 8 clone on the ssd.

Not anything to write home about but for a igp its pretty nice. I'm eager to see how the HD 4000 holds up in this one.

Overall its not bad. I only play wow so i hardly use my G75 or Sager any more and my HP plays wow just fine and i love the finger print reader and the fact i can play on the battery if needed without needing a 8lb power brick.

wow that 670 puts the 680m to shame. Just further proves that the 680m is lacking memory bandwidth. I hope the 780m rectifies this problem.

Yeah but weird thing it Cloud Gate total score, 680m is faster than 670, although the graphics score for 670 is faster than 680m, but Physics is faster on the laptop. How odd.

Meh, only a few % improvement. Although it does help with games more than 3DMark benches.

Hello all, I seem to be having substantially lower results than what I've seen posted previously and I don't know why exactly....3720QM + 680M all at stock and I only got this:
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3720QM Processor,CLEVO P15xEMx

Since it takes quite a while for the tests to complete, I'll edit this post when my overclocked results are in, settings are still 3720QM + 680M (now at 854/2000 instead of stock 719/1800):
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 680M video card benchmark result - Intel Core i7-3720QM Processor,CLEVO P15xEMx

Overclocked my max temp was only 84C, so it's still got plenty of room there, I don't know what the issue is.

simple answer is i have no idea, sorry.

I have 8GB 1600MHz and 256GB Crucial M4, but those shouldn't really be affecting graphics scores should they? The CPU I could see mattering, but 500MHz eh, it's hard to say. Definitely should bump you up, but the increase seems to be substantially more than just that.
