Agreed. Although neat looking bench though. It's not like you have different software to run on laptops and mid-range PC's

Sky Diver will be benched by desktop users and the other benchmarks will be benched by mobile users anyway :p

But cool with a new benchmark non the less

it's obvious it will be used for all kind of systems...it's all about the comparison.
that why this definition is weird.

It will be a free upgrade to owners of 3DMark (13). This will be a good tool to test laptops with mid end GPUs like the 850/860m from Nvidia as opposed to integrated graphics such as Iris Pro in potentially Broadwell laptops.

Hmm.. I kind of liked having a comparison across iGPU, Mobile GPU and desktop GPU. This seems like it's fixing a problem that doesn't exist.

That said I guess since it's free can't hurt having another benchmark, maybe it'll gain a following in respective communities

It looks ugly and really fake. The animation seems really off for some reason, like uncanny valley kind of weird. 3DMark05/06 is more impressive than this.

LOL they brought the semantics argument on themselves. "But my Chromebook is a gaming laptop, too! It can play FarmVille and solitaire!"
