    Firstly, my setup!

    nVidia GeForce Go 7950GTX ( x2 - SLi enabled )
    Intel Core 2 T7200 @ 2243MHz
    2048MB Memory

    Graphics driver version: 169.09
Operating System: Windows XP Professional x86 - Service Pack 2

    The scores!

    3DMark Score: 8928

    SM2.0 Score: 4170
    HDR/SM3.0 Score: 4203
    CPU Score: 1949

Do those seem about right? The CPU looks like it's dragging way behind the cards, but maybe the CPU score for 3DMark06 is usually lower like that, I'm not sure. I'm just wondering if this seems about right or if something seems to be wrong. Also curious about other benchmark scores people are getting and their rigs, because it's Sunday night and I'm bored ^.^

Wow, I'm kind of sad now... There are people with results over 29000 3DMarks O.O That's insane...

I'm tweaking things a little now trying to break 9k... So close, but so far...

Don't worry about the CPU score. How did you overclock it to 2243MHz?

Yay! One of my life goals have been completed.

    3DMark Score: 9094

    SM2.0 Score: 4294
    HDR/SM3.0 Score: 4257
    CPU Score: 1971

Broke 9k! Hrm... Time to push a bit more. Gonna swap around some drivers, settings and whatnot. As for the overclocking question, think people would like if I made a new post about overclocking the T7200? Back in a minute.

Alienware for sure, Clevo, Sager, plus a possible Dell. But that's old tech (but still good) now.

Calling it 'old tech' is a bit harsh. There are only two upgrades to my processor, one with my current overclock, and it costs $750ish... So I'd say mine is alright. And if you're comparing the 7950GTX to the 8600's in the newer performance notebooks... Well, the 7950 wins. Not to mention there is no game even on the horizon that REQUIRES DX10, and the DX9 -> DX10 upgrade... Not so great when comparing a high range 7-series to a mid-range 8-series. I'm actually in the process of OC'ing the 7950's a slight bit, very, very little headroom on these beasties, they quickly spool up to 80 degrees or so, might just stick with a very slight overclock when I run the benchmark. I'll post the benchmarks on my final overclock here in a minute.

Yes, it is an Alienware m9750. And I used ClockGen to overclock, I'll throw up a quick guide when I get this final benchmark done, slowly turning down my GPU OC until the artifacting stops... Back in a minute.

Alright, as I had pretty much assumed, there is very little to be gained overclocking a 7950GTX. This could be a different story if I had some kind of additional cooling, but as it stands, it's not worth the risk. A mild 5% overclock yielded ~25 more 3DMarks on one run, 19 on another, but it boosted the cards near the 90 degree range at points, which is ( in my opinion ) not worth the additional strain on the GPU's.

Resetting my cards, then I will make a quick guide, I swear! Then it's time for a bit of max-setting Hellgate: London stress testing!
