Just want to start this thread for everyone to see what 3dmark 06 scores people are getting on their graphics cards.

I'll start off my sharing mine:

    card 8600m gt ddr3 Overclocked 680/1360/890 using 177.35 @ 1200x800

    score as follows
    [IMG]

    6043

New scores up using 680/1425/890 177.35 (no longer core-shader linked, shader up from 1360!) temperature remains the same!

    6155

The thing is that this score almost doubles the 3dmark06 scores posted @ notebookcheck. Even with this overclcok, it shouldnt account for the ~2x score, so I really think numbers from that site is not accurate.

IIRC, the last time I ran a test on default settings I got about 8888, if not that number exactly.

wow had to say nice job 6063, now thats unreal man. your score is about 1400 higher tan most people with te same card and overclock. I tink to answer your previous post, you particular card might just scratch by as future proof for the next 3 years, I haven't heard of any new graphical technology coming out yet and im pretty sure it has peaked with crysis, I think games will look slightly better in a couple years, but the engines will be more efficient and require less horsepower than crysis, Just wait till far cry 2 comes out and if you can run that max settings at native res and average 25-30fps im confident your card is good enough for gamining unless you play games professionally in tournements and require 60 fps and higher. another thing to consider, most games seem to be programmed on xbox360 are set at 30fps not 60fps, and since it's been out for a while I think all thats left like every generation of gaming iv'e experienced over the last 15 years, the games will just get more efficient, and therefore run even smoother on your laptop top with the same graphical quality.

Btw, 3dmark06 doesnt really make alot of sense for midrange cards like ours, its way to cpu dependant, 3dmark05 is a much better gauge of your gpus real world performance today. :p

can you post 3dmark05 scores really curious if you have the world record for the 8600m gt.
    It's gotta be over 12000 if u get 6000 at 1280x800.

also I think you card is the same but it appears to perform like a 8700m gt(well a crappy 8700m gt) I think you are just very lucky that you have such a high performance card in your laptop. yea i'm jealous :p

btw my score at 1280x800 ocd to 675/920 I get 4700 but thats in vista using 177.13 drivers
I care because i took back my hd2600 gddr3 laptop and excanged it for a ASUS g1s with the 8600m gt gddr3 thinking i would get better results, but the differance is too small, I get a lower shader_3.0 score and hdr test are like 8 fps slower. I might take it back and upgrade to the hdx with the 8800m gts, but I dont really need 60 fps vs 30fps and at the same rez it will look sharper on my asus than the hdx. Maybe you have some tweaks I could use for 3dmark or games, you would save me alot of hassle, I can only take back so many laptops :p haha anyways nice score ..try to get some 3dmark05 scores up and ill just download them and call them my own :( yea like 3dmark fraud...

WileyCoyote, could you do the test in 1280x1024 resolution? Easier to compare that way.

Nonetheless, great score and overclock. :)

Ive got 2292 on my semi OCed 9200m gs (600/780 max 62C)
I think I can break the 2500 mark.

The stock clocks were 550/700, how much further do you think I can go?

News flash, Ive got it to 2450 marks @ 650/800 and max temps are still 60C, Samsung are the best for cool notebooks.

The Notebook G50V with the 9700gt gets about 6000 (cant wait to find a way to overclock)

The Desktop (custom built) gets about 19,400

Dont forget 3dmark06 is very cpu dependent for the final score. So if you want to compare video card power more directly you should only be looking at the shader model scores and not the final score.

BTW my Q210 max res is 1280x800 (12.1") so its at a bit of an advantage to others benchmarking at 1280x1024.

Im not too sure right now, since the begining of OCing 550/700 to 700/850, ive seen no real temperature gains, my 3Dmark06 score is now 2571, so it is clocking up.
Ive been using HWmonitor and NVmonitor to check temps...
    Whats going on??? o_O

EDIT: Is 700/850 a good ratio?

The dell gets 3300-3600 and can easilly reach 4000 with a light OC. My hp got in the neighborhood of 1600 which matches my x1600 I had in a old laptop.

    I've gotten 4820 on a 8600GT 512MB DDR2 with clocks set to 671/505.

I'm sure that one day I'll get it to 5000 3dmarks with new drivers and pushing the clocks just a litte more.
