Hey.
I just did 3DMark06 Proffessional Edition test, and got 3519p (1200x800)
While I was doing the test, there were 2 CPU tests .. both got average 0.5fps - how is that possible?
CPU : Intel Core 2 Duo T7250 [2.0Ghz]
GPU : nVidia 8600M GT [512mb] [DDR2] using latest nVidia Dell offical drivers.
RAM : 2Gb
Is the CPU score somehow bugged?
And shouln't I get a little higher score with 8600M GT with 1200x800 resolution? =o
Thanks!

It is possible. Mine ran at 1 fps in some points. That is what the benchmarks does, stress the helloutav the GPU and CPU to see what they can do
Even quad cores OCed out of their arses barely get to 2-3 fps..
Also, update drivers and that might get you a bigger score.Forget about dell drivers, go to www.laptopvideo2go.com and get the latest ones... -
Oh, alright .. I thought my CPU is broken or something already.
Okay I'll check those custom drivers out, thanks. -
yeah get lv2g drivers but not the latest , i suggest that u get 169.04 as they have been the best for me

That is a normal score for the DDR2 8600m GT (at that resolution). And yeah, the benchmark is meant to tax your system, so 0.5-1 FPS on the CPU test is normal, don't worry.

I get 5033 in 3DMark06, but that's because my graphics card is overclocked, I tweaked my system for optimal performance and have a fast cpu.

the cpu test runs through the same scene is the graphics test except in low quality, and ON THE CPU.
its doing software rendering... thats why you have a gpu. Without a gpu, thats the kind of performance you would get out of a processor for rendering. -
I see, thank you for the information. ^^
I downloaded the custom drivers and overclocked a little, and now my score is 4219p.
Thanks again! -

I guess that processor really help him then? That or he's got some crazy high clocks to be getting 5k.

I was able to get into the 5000 range when I overclocked my Nvidia Quadro FX570M (that card is based on the 8600GT 256MB GDDR3). So it definitely is possible. Unfortunately my card isn't very stable when I overclock it like that...

I can quite easily get over 4800 myself (2.2Ghz T7500, DDR2 version 8600M GT at 650 core, 550 RAM)
So take in consideration the faster CPU he has, and that he could be pushing the GPU a bit more, 5k isn't out of the question. -
I've since dialed back my oc and gpu temps stay around 70 on load now. -
As others noted, there's no point in believing a 3dmark06 score or using it as a reference unless someone posts the resolution they ran it at as well. I can drop down to 1280x800 and get 4000 without even overclocking, but if I don't say what resolution I ran it at there's no point.
So yeah, doubtless that DDR2 5000 3dmark06 score was done at 1280x800, and as morphy noted, that 5000 3dmark06 score for the 570m was done @ 1280x1024.
