^^^ You can't. Like was said earlier, that guide is for DESKTOPS, not notebooks. A lot of stuff is either disabled for us or not available.

I know you have the latest BIOS version but re-flash it again. I think something is corrupt and causing your PCI-e to run in 1x mode. Link

soz but you have to tell dell all this, the end user shouldnt have to worry about this. these problems should have been sorted out during testing

yea i am going to call dell about this. Sucks. If the technicians over the phone are clueless about this, they will probably just send me a new mobo to test it out. >.<

thx for the replies so far.

Odds are they'll ask you to send in your computer so THEY can replace the mobo. I don't know of many OEMs who let users replace their own parts.

    Either way, good luck.

called dell, they says replacing the card should have done the trick, it aint the mobo problem. However so, they will still replace the mobo. I requested for a replacement but they say its already 5months old crap. sigh

yeap, the customer service is here is pretty damn good in malaysia. I installed vista Sp1, hoping for some change, sigh still the same x1 pci crap. When i boot up, it will be x16 and when i start a game or any sort of program that involves graphics, the pci will return to x1 in cpu-z and gpu-z.
