I'll buy the rights to Duke Nukem Forever for $5 just to keep the dream alive.

I'd never actually do any work on it, but 3d Realms wasn't doing much either.

I read about that yesterday but didn't think it worth posting.

Seriously, a studio with the gall to take 12 years to work on a game when it was popular 15 years ago doesn't deserve continuous unconditional funding.

To be fair, they were also working (ACTUALLY working) on Prey 2, the sequel to a game that was released this century. I enjoyed the first one.

Only for the 15-year old vapourware project to drain resources, time and manpower from something that had a better chance of selling on the market.

Preaching to the choir in my case. I do think its news worthy however. Duke Nukem 3D was a huge hit and was spawning what was one of the most highly anticipated sequels of its time. I think everyone is familiar with the long road from there to here where the book on this one can finally be closed. Seems fair enough to bid the franchise farewell.

Wow, they worked on the sequel for 12 years? Thats insane. And here I thought Blizzard took their time. You'd have to expect funding to dry up eventually.

Prey was great. I hope the rights get transferred to someone who knows what they're doing!

To bad for them. But seriously, why they did not release the next Duke Nukem game if it was so good?? Maybe the ran out of ideas??... for 12 years??
