How it's possible that you have 40fps in HL2:LC (I guess it's similar to Episode One) with 6xaa+16xaf on GF7400?!? My card is twice fast as yours and 1280x768, aax4,afx4 + hdr got 30-35?! 40-45 without hdr?! WTF?!![]()

Broke 9000. Check the sig. Faster than a stock 7900GTX.

mastha212, sheff is obviously either lying or had a typo about his gpu
anyway all you bastards with 7800/7900gtx makes me so jealous

Strange i thought the go 7600 was much faster than a desktop 9800xt. But the difference is only 500 points.

X1600 has around 4100. Does that make the X1600 really better?

Its the fact that synthetic benchmarks arent accurate to real world gaming situations. There are pleanty of cards that score similar to one another in a synthetic benchmark, but one card will leave one in the dust when it comes to gaming.
-
Another thing with synthetic benchmarks, especially 3dmark, is as soon as it is released Nvidia/ATI go to work on optimizing the drivers to squeeze every last point out of the program. These optimizations are legal (usually) but do make a difference. A few years back when Nvidia launched the 6 Series of GPUs they also removed optimizations for 3dmark2001 from their drivers, whilst ATI kept theres in. There were many people with 9800pros who were getting better scores than people with 6800GT cards, which of course would never happen in real gaming.
Synthetic benchmarks are a good tool to use, but they should not be considered as the only measurement of a graphics card performance. -
My GMA900 gave me a score of 189 on 3dmark 05. I wonder what it would score on 3dmark 06.

dell i6400

3dmark05 = 1893 stock clocks with latest omega drivers (which are really wonderful) -
It's all in the sig, but I don't usually run my video card at those clocks for fear of melting it and it gets really unstable after about 15 minutes. I usually just run it at 515/520.

3dmark05 = 1974 @ stock clocks with 6-9-mobile_xp_dd_ccc_enu_35779 drivers..

chechen, that's a good score for a x1600.

Just got the laptop 10 days ago. At first I was getting a 8100 score, but that was maybe because I had up to 5 high demanding games installed. Then I had to do a system restore since I had a few problems, now I get the following score: 8638.
I used default settings for 3dMark05.
My latop:
-intel core 2 duo T7400 (2.16Ghz)
- 2047MB ddr2 667Mhz ram
- 512MB Geforce go 7900GTX

Eneid, if you dont mind my asking, where'd you get that background? I love space-y backgrounds

Here you go mate! I got it a couple of days back browsing the internet. Can't remember the exact address though (it was a wallpaper forum).
Just note that it has a 1920x1200 resolution!

My laptop is:
-Intel CPU T2050 @ 1.60GHz

-ATI mobility Radeon X1600 128VRAM / 512 hypermemory
anything i can do to improve this score? -

4144 3D Mark05 score. 7600 256mb clocked at 439/470.. Plays FEAR at MAX(soft shodows off) settings at 1024x768 perfectly. Could have bought a Xi1546 with the X1800 for same price as my Toshiba but Fujitsu Siemens laptops are awful! Toshiba are the best.

-
Riva Tuner is what i use and by far the best. Dont touch your core settings as 450 is the max it shud be at.. But ur memory speed is very low!.. if u managed to increase that to 420-440 you will see a VERY noticable increase in performance and ur 3D score should hit the 4000 mark..

Is it safe for overclock a laptop GPU? what are the normal/acceptable temps can a GPU&CPU handle w/o me to worry so much =/

Id kick myself every time thinking i saved $200 but could have had the real thing.....
