    Hello all,

I have a GeForce 9500m (9200M GS and 9400m G in Hybrid-SLI) that scores ~3650 in 3dMark06 when I have the machine in portable laptop form. However, if I plug it into mt Samsung 2493H external monitor, I can only hit ~3250. I am running 182.05 drivers by Dox.

Laptop is in 1280x800, external monitor is 1900x1200, 3DMark06 is run at default settings (free version). Monitor connection is DVI. I have tried running the external monitor at 1280x800 and it makes no difference. The only changes between the two are whether the monitor is plugged in or not. Heat is not the issue as I run the tests back to back.

    Any ideas? Thank you!

you ran the benchmark at 1280*1024 instead of 1280*800. the res you run your external screen makes no difference, the program will still bench at 1280*1024.

So then both the laptop and the external are running at 1280x1024?

no. your laptop has a native res of 1280*800, so anything will be limited to a maximum of 1280*800. your external has a native(maximum) res of 1920*1200, so it can display any resolution below or equal to that.

Ah! And therein lies the performance difference.

    Thanks!
