I'm trying to run 3dmark to get a idea on my system. whats the baseline settings that are considered standard? Reso, AA, etc.

Just wondering, what seems to be the average for vostro 1500's with 2gb ram and 8600m. I was getting mid 2k it seemed but i had some AA on when i ran it as well.

    Thanks

If you just download and install the free version, you are already at the base settings to test. As in the default settings, are the settings you want to use.

As Scavar said, default for a baseline score, all the other modes are pretty useless for the average user, if your reviewing or comparing cards, it can be very useful to see how the cards handle higher res, AA,AF, etc, but in terms of just making sure things are running right, default is all you will ever need.

Another thing though, is that if you want to truly test the system, go to the source and test it with games.

Counter Strike Source, Company of Heroes, Supreme Commander, are all good games to test as they have in game tests which are fairly dead on with the actual gameplay.
