hello guys, I just installed 3dmark06 on my new notebook which is a dell 1530 with a T9300 penryn processor with the 256 mb 8600 gt nvidia card, and I had a few questions:

    1. When I installed the 3dmark06 program, it said it had to install direct x 9c. So my question is, would this override the current direct x driver I have which is direct x 10 because I have the 8600 gt nvidia card?

    2. If it does downgrade me from direct x 10 to direct x 9c, how do I upgrade to the exact direct x 10 driver I had previous?

    3. This is the first time I ever did a benchmark test, is it suppose to test i in a game demo called paragon? where theres like futuristic soldiers fighting each other, then it test it on firely forest demo and then a cpu test then test 3 canyon fligth, test 4 deep freeze? etc.... Is this how it suppose to be benchmark testing my system?

    4. is the cpu test supposeto be SUPER slow? it looked like a dirt like desert? is it suppose to be like this? thanks

    5. I was running the test with my computer being on top my zalman cooler, is it going to affect my score in any way?.

6 I scored a 3909 on my system out of the box which is considered low for mys ystem, suppose to be around 4200ish, is there anything wrong? how can I improve my score?

    Thanks guys

    1. No
    2. ^^
    3. It just tests the graphics card and the processor, then puts the scores together.
    4. Yeah...
    5. No
    6. It is? I think that's pretty normal. But try newer drivers.

Even though it displays the wrong graphics card, you are obviously getting performance corresponding to the 8600m GT. So don't worry about it.

Also, what resolution did you do the test at? That can tell us a lot about your score.
