    hi, just wondernig - what resolution do most people set it at to retrieve their 3dmarks score? do i need to BUY the program to get the results everyone posts? i know it says the resolution on the basic edition is set to 1280x854 ... ;\

    The normal resolution is 1280x1024 and it is the only res available if using the free version.

    To get the standard benchmark that everyone gets, you must run it at 1280x1024

    But there are alot of people with only 1280x800 screens who must run it at their max. If your maximum resolution is 1280x800 then you cannot compare yours with other 3Dmark 06 scores correctly.

    maybe because your screen does not have that resolution. yours is probably 1280*800 thats y u cant use the default one

    so since i can't change the resolution it gives me in the free version, i can't compare to other 3dmark scores? :( it is set at 1280x854, my screen is a widescreen 17" (satellite x205 w. 8700mGT)

    Yea, pretty much.. if you can't run it at 1280x1024 then you can't really compare it..

    with a 17" toshiba gaming laptop, why can't you? what's your maxim resolution on it? is it 1440x900? that would explain it..
