    Hehe I agree KidA...

    I had 2605 for 3dmark05... the test was 15 fps and the last 2 test 1-2 fps. I dont want to run 3dmark06 and get more headache with 1-2 all the time. I think my score will be around 1000 tough. I will run it today,stay tuned.

    x700's score less than 1000 when at standard clocks. Usually somewhere in the range of 750-900 depending on the VRAM....

    This might be an issue with this test, but the resolution may vary depending on your computer. 3DMark06's default resolution is SXGA 1280x1024 - if you don't have a monitor that suports that, it will default to less and thus the scores will be off.

    Last time I ran 3DMark06 on my X700 256MB OC'ed, I got 976 marks. I should be able to break 1,000 with the latest drivers. :)

    I have a RADEON 9200 series, I'm too afraid to take the test for the fear that my PC will crash. ; ;

    You can't run 3DMark05/06 on that card unfortunately, it's only DX 8.1. You need a DX9 card to run 05/06.

    4000 3dmark06 points!? Thats incredible... I get 2600 on 3dmark05 with overclock... Nice score for a 7800GTX.
    I wonder what the 7900GTX will get (XPS), I thought Chaz had a review about it.

    I'll check it out.

    no its not that good .. I just don't get it! I just ran the test and I got 2183 3D marks! My comp. has 1.66 GHz core duo, 1 GB of ram and nvidia geforce go 7600 with 512 mb.. and I to, haven't changed any clock speeds.. weird! your comp. should do better than mine if you look at the specs - shouldn't it?

    There's such a thing as a fluked test as well.

    And the Go 7600 and the X1600 are pretty close in performance, so even if you had the same specs otherwise, there still wouldn't be an enormous difference.

    But he has 512 MB of VRAN on the 7600...that should compensate some of the difference..if the x1600 doesn't have the same amount of VRAM

    I just have a desktop score for you... My intel 900GMA in my laptop, I don't think would quite cut it :p

    I got 2218.

    -AMD 3200+ @ 2250mhz
    -EVGA Nvidia Go 6800 256MB Oc'ed (405mhz/714mhz)
    -2GB's DDR400
    -160GB 7200RPM WD

    So... my CPU is overclocked a little and my graphics card. Nothing too big. But I had a couple of programs open. I should try closing them and running it again. I'm also going to overclock a bit more. Then do a fresh re-boot ;)

    I also think that the 512MB of dedicated VRAM makes a difference. I'd take a look at benchmarks for the desktop GeForce 7600 vs. the X1600 for 3DMark06, see which does better.

    Also be sure to run the test twice or thrice because the first time you shouldn't count it - the computer is still caching the textures, etc.

    Thanks. Really, it's the pinmod that bumped it up so high. 3dmark06 is actually fairly dependent on your CPU, so a 2.4PM really helped. I don't remember what I had before the mod, but it was a little ways under 4000, I know that much.

    I am trying to get a m1710 now, now THAT will be a nice score once I'm done OCing!!

    I ran it 3 times in a row and I got 2002, then 1999, then 1998. My CPU score was more than the graphics score combined lol.

    Hey Sublime,

    I think it would be a pity if you would do away your XPS Gen 2...you have a beautiful custom painting, a good overclock... why spend so much money for a little bit more performance... But that is my opinion, maybe you are the son of Bill Gates ;)

    Ha, if you knew how poor I am you'd REALLY think I am crazy!!

    But I figure, with the 1710, I can drop a merom in it when they come out, so I'll have a 64 bit dual core, and I am hoping for a GPU upgrade down the road. I really think in the end it costs just about as much to hang onto your computer until it's obsolete and sell it for next to nothing as it does to upgrade every year or so. I paid $1600 for mine a year ago (no 7800GTX back then though) and looking at ebay, I think I may get most of that back if I sell now.

    As for the OC and paint job, the OC on the 7900GTX will only be better, and someday (someday faaar away!!) I may get bold enough to paint the m1710 too. But yeah, I am still happy with my m170 and all, I'd just like to sell it while I can still get a pretty penny for it

    I just ran 3DMark06 at the default settings (you have to pay for it to tweak it) and I scored 2959. I don't know if that's good at all for my notebook, and I couldn't find a thread other than 3DMark05. If this is the first thread for 3DMark06 scores... then please share yours!

    I have a Dell M90 2.0 Ghz with the 1500m video card.

    3dmark06 scores (everything default) with the out of the box m90 was

    SM2 = 1376
    HDR/SM3 = 1370
    CPU 1656

    Total = 3523

    So it looks like the 2500m earns you about 33% more. I don't have any experience yet in my typical battery life however. I'll trade some ultimate video performance if I can do it substantially longer. (Which the specs say I should be able too)

    Just downloaded and ran 3dMark06 this morning. With overclocked Geforce Go 7900GS at 480/550 (1100) the system was completely stable, with no artifacts and GPU temps around 65-70 degrees C. Scored 4542 3dmarks, which I am extremely happy with.

    Can't run it. Highest I can run is 3dmark03, but it can only run like four tests of that. I got like an 800. Haha. At least it's getting replaced. M90 should be here next Friday.

    Yeah, I was surprised myself to the 3DMark performance of my new laptop, and I only paid $1282 for it, $1395 total after tax and shipping :) With Dell you got to wait for a right time to buy when the price is low + they have that -$750 coupon, I got mine on June 1st.

    What's a good score for 3dMark06? I get about 2350 on stock drivers, and was trying to overclock. Got to 2540 with core speed at 510 and memory untouched. Not sure if I did it right or not......

    Yea I got mine with 750 discount, free shipping, plus an extra 100 off. But I got mines May 23. Man I wish i waited for when the laptop came with a 7900gs. Now I'm suffering by trying to convince dell to give me a 7900gs. But I've tried so many times with no luck. It looks I just have to return my laptop and buy a new one or try to sell the 7800.

    Don't suffer, 7900GS still runs pretty hot, too hot to keep it on your lap. I wonder if I need the card that powerfull, the only game I play for 4 years already is UT99 (IGLG 155/55) and Intel's build-in graphics should handle this game just fine.

    Very true about the heat. I worry about cooking myself if I cover up the vents or something. I doubt that I will keep the card overclocked, as it runs just fine with it in stock settings. Although I can't get that high of a 3dmark06 score, I still get in the high 3000's.
