I'm noticing 3dmark11 is screwing up all my physics scores. Example, in the past, 4.4ghz 2920XM used to pull into the 33-35fps range on the physics test. Now, it barely gets to 22! What in the world is this due to? I have no significant background resources running! According to XTU, 3dmark11 throttles my CPU down to 2.25GHz and calls it "thermal throttle" which I know is not the case. Could it be my 330W PSU is not cutting it for power requirement? At 4.4ghz, CPU power consumption is near 85W, both 980Ms are locked to 1.000V stock clocks.

Its probably their Anti-cheat mechanism using too much resources/CPU cycles by constantly checking for any hooks before and after running each scene/benchmark.

I had the same problem, even after fresh windows 7 installation. Actually not right after fresh installation, but after i installed all my softwares. It was really bugging, when I done with everything after hours of working and my physics is sucks! So i had to reinstall Win 7 again and than measure my 3DMark 11 physics after each software installation. And when I installed my favorite free antivirus program; the Bitdefender my physics score dropped significantly...! So yes, uninstall that freaqin Bitdefender antivirus and use Avast instead. It can also running in the background without a word.

very interesting, I also am running bitdefender. I guess that's what is causing the interference.

Do you happen to run windwos 10?

I have noticed similair behavior on windows 10, on windows 7 or 8 the physics score is normal, on windows 10 it's lower.
