I have a G53JW and I'm experiencing some lag while running team fortress 2. I'm running it on near max settings and have been dipping down into the 20s when I make sudden turns or when I'm at a choke point with rockets and demo spams everywhere. I'm using nvidia's latest drivers as well.

Shouldn't this card have no problem running this game at max and how can I fix this?

It is normal. TF2 is very CPU intensive. I have a frien with a AMD x4 and he also has those drops, and he also has a 5770

I have a G73JH, so our machines are pretty similar other than the GPU's. I max out TF2 at 1080p and I do not experience stuttering.

I wouldn't say that it isn't normal because I have heard many people with the same complaint. It might be good (although painful) to go check the Steam TF2 user forums and see if there are any solutions there.

This is a driver problem, try different drivers because even a crappy pentium dual core with an 8600gt could max this out without lagg.
